I sat down with the three leads of the new CW show Charmed, Madeleine Mantock, Sarah Jeffery, and Melonie Diaz, to chat challenges with special effects, best moments filming, new magic, sisterhood, and more! QAs you know from the first episode, the show has many similarities to the original, but totally different characters and a more modern premise. Find out what each lead actress thinks about their new show and roles.
Some of the audio is really low, so I cleaned up all the closed captioning for you guys. I definitely recommend turning it on so you know what is being asked.
Charmed Sister Macy Vaughn (Madeleine Mantock)
Macy is the sister that they never knew they had. Madeleine speaks about Macy’s struggles with her interactions with the other sisters, the biology of magic, what it’s like to finally have powers after always playing the human, and how she got the role.
Charmed Sister Maggie Vera (Sarah Jeffery)
Maggie is the youngest, still in college and trying to figure herself out. Sarah talks about how Maggie handles her intrusive power, the potential for different cultures’ magic in the show, and what the hours are really like as a show lead.
Charmed Sister Mel Vera (Melonie Diaz)
Mel is the only one certain their mother’s death was a murder. She was also the oldest until Macy shows up. Melonie discusses how she would love for her character to become a gay icon, Mel’s dynamics with the other sisters, and what freezing time really looks like on set.
Charmed airs on Sunday nights at 9pm ET on the CW. Did you watch the first episode of Charmed? Let us know what you though of it in the comments!
