Younger “A Christmas Miracle” Highlights: Season 5, Ep. 7

Who doesn’t love Christmas in July? If hot tea isn’t keeping you cool this summer (yes that’s a thing), perhaps some good old-fashioned snogging in the snow will help! No, not one of those Lifetime Summer Escapes specials. I’m talking about the Younger Christmas episode! Pour some nog it’s highlight time!

The Lonely Goatherd

Total Heartbreak! That’s what I felt the moment I saw Zane’s expression when he figures out Kelsey is also dating their client Jake Deveraux. He looks SO betrayed. She is seeing someone on the side AND tanking his career in the process since Jake decided to drop him and let Kelsey handle his book solo.

Here’s the thing. As bad as Zane made me feel, I was equally elated to see Kelsey and Jake have their cutesy, comfy bedroom moment. I’m also happy that Kelsey’s career is taking off, but frustrated with how it is happening. New York Magazine wants an excerpt from the first chapter? He still only has the first chapter? The chapter that Zane and Kelsey had to drag out of him? If this book deal goes south where will that leave Kelsey’s career and love life?

The things we do for our kids. Amiright?

I absolutely loved this scene! Sutton Foster could be the next I Love Lucy if there could be such a thing (please don’t try this, Hollywood). She’s funny in that “this makes me so embarrassed for you I’m almost uncomfortable” but you cover your face and laugh anyway, kind of way. You feel me? I got particularly caught up in this one because I watched Sound of Music a few thousand times as a child. Edelweiss still makes me cry and miss my grandaddy.

Nostalgia wasn’t all I loved about this Christmas party. I’m officially back on #TeamCharles! How could I ever doubt you? Watching Liza embarrass herself for her daughter’s happiness is exactly what he needed to see for everything to finally click. It was so apparent in his face that he got it I’m not sure we even needed the later scene where she explained that her daughter is why she lied to get her job. I nearly gave my screen a standing ovation when he turned that cab around and they had their Bridget Jones moment in the snow. I’m sure they will find a way to mess it all up but in the mean time-huzzah!
