One of the perks of writing for That’s Normal is being given books to review. Full transparency, we get a lot of books. Sometimes even without knowing, they just show up. So when I got an email telling me I had a shipment coming my way I wasn’t too surprised, until I opened the box. So many toddler books! Was I disappointed that I wasn’t gifted an entire series of vampire romance novels? No, no, not at all (LIE). But since I have a toddler, I am super thankful and super interested in seeing what he thinks of the giant box of books that showed up.
My Magical Dragon
We have the two other books in this series, My Magical Unicorn and My Magical Mermaid. My son (just turned two and super into books) still prefers the Mermaid version to this book. He points at the Mermaid and says “Mama” about a hundred times a minute. There’s a lot happening on every page of these books if your kiddo likes to play “I spy” and point out all the little animals and details, this is a great series for you. My Magical Dragon will be released for magical adventures on 10/08/2019!
Christmas Is Awesome!
Christmas Is Awesome AND I can’t wait for my son to be more “into” Christmas this year. This book is super cute and packed full of Christmas-y details that will instantly bring the holiday feelings to you and your little ones. I love all the hot pink details in this book, my son loves the page with all the cookies on it. He tries to use that page to order cookies from me. It hasn’t worked for him so far, but he keeps trying. Christmas Is Awesome is available for pre-order right now and will be released on 10/15/2019.
Farmblock
This book is so cool. I like all the different shaped pages, the fold-out and fold-up pages. This book is going into my book bag and will be the new “restaurant” book. It’s full of animals, fruits, tractors, and a family telling a story. I love it and my son loves it. This book is a winner for us.
Farmblock is available for preorder and will be released on 10/01/2019.
Where Is My Pink Sweater
I like this book for one super random reason. I like that the focus is on a pink sweater. I can’t get my child to recognize pink as a color. He knows all his colors. He doesn’t recognize pink as being different from red. I know, that’s a weird reason to like a book, but here we are. Rudy is looking for his fave pink sweater and can’t find it anywhere. Spoiler, his little sister was wearing it. Typical little sister move, amirite?
Where Is My Pink Sweater is available for pre-order and will be released on 10/8/2019.
Baby Loves
Baby Loves is no joke, the winner of the giant box of books. My son loves this one. Why? Because this book is full of things that he recognizes the name of. When I ask him to point to the sippy cup, he can do that and being able to do that boosts his confidence. We love this book.
You guessed it, you can pre-order Baby Loves or wait for it to be available on 10/8/2019.
