Your first look at #StarWars: The Rise of Skywalker is here! Let Vanity Fair introduce you to the final chapter in the Skywalker saga. Photographs by Annie Leibovitz. Story by Lev Grossman. https://t.co/ER4XSJmZ8k pic.twitter.com/OyQKDN69eR

Take a moment to notice that VF posted this with Rey on the left here, and Kylo the right. It will be important later. They also shared this quick behind the scenes video:
Fan Reactions
Star Wars fans reacted like they always do. Quickly. Effusively. And mostly positively, which seems rare these days. Look long enough and you can find some negativity, but the few I did find were… entirely unoriginal and not worth sharing. Haters gonna hate, and they’re usually gonna do it with atrocious grammar and zero punctuation.
Excitement was palpable over at Team Reylo. We were dancing in the streets, because this issue gave us exactly what we hoping for. Even if Vanity Fair did try to be sneaky about it. YOU CAN’T FOOL US.
Side by side the backgrounds line up, its one fucking picture guys holy shit pic.twitter.com/5DGzx7HJU9

Reylos already have this clue NAILED DOWN:
Is the hidden meaning the fact that they’re fucking
— kylo & dany warrior (@kylostormborn) May 22, 2019
The fanfic for this photo practically writes itself:
In alternative:
1) Rey manages to disarm Kylo
2) She throws her own lightsaber away
3) She steps closer while he stands still; he’s breathing heavily
4) She hesitates, then pushes on her toes
5) They kiss in the rain
6) ‘Your lips are cold,” she mumbles against his mouth. pic.twitter.com/AlNPJgDyCt— Ever so Maybe-Bond (@EverSoReylo) May 22, 2019

Ever heard the phrase “Star Crossed Enemies”? Yeah. Me neither. It’ll be awhile before Reylos come down from this high.
But yes, there are also other characters in this movie
Don’t worry, the whole preview isn’t just Kylo and Rey. The other stars also had some glorious photos and interviews. For instance, my namesake Jannah is looking majestic as hell.
I had to work for it by scrolling a lot in that Vanity Fair piece but HOOMG. FINN AND JANNAH. GUYS LOOK AT HER. #CURLSINSPACE #STARWARS pic.twitter.com/jpF2OoZDRl

The mysterious Knights of Ren have been twiddling their thumbs the last two movies, but NO LONGER.
Kylo Ren’s backup dancers are here and I don’t think I’ve ever been happier #StarWars #VanityFair pic.twitter.com/3N3pdWVcML

Err…it’s not looking good for those Knights of Ren, however.

WELL ACTUALLY as of this publishing, Vanity Fair has pulled an “oopsies, this reveal was an error!” Which most of us are taking to mean “oopsies, we weren’t supposed to reveal that!” But forget them. LOOK WHO’S BACK. “See you around, kid”, indeed.
