Kal Beckett is the guide who survives an horrific tragedy on Mount Everest with her. They’re strangers who instantly become something more through immense loss. Rating: 5 suspicious southerners
Recommended for: suspense lovers, wives who think their husbands are up to something
Gina Royal was a typical American wife and mother. Just having picked up her kids from school, she did not suspect anything when she saw the red and blue flashing police lights
on her street. However, a freak accident revealed the dark secrets her husband had been hiding for years (no spoilers here). Gina’s life is turned upside down by the devastating truth and internet trolls bent on making her life hell. Gina feels she has no choice but to go into hiding with her two young children.
New identities and addresses can only slow down online stalkers for so long, but after several changes of name, Gina and her kids start to feel safe in their small lakeside community. That’s when the bodies start appearing. The full set up for Stillhouse Lake is unique and the final third of the book races toward an ending that is both satisfying and unfinished. A cliff hanger sets up book two, Killman Creek, out this December. Buy Stillhouse Lake now!
