You won’t hold it against me, that when faced with the cast of Starz’s Black Sails including Luke Arnold who plays “John Silver,” I asked him when we would learn what the LONG in John Silver’s name really meant, right? Ok, good. we’re on the same page, cause honestly? Duh.
I came to Black Sails a few weeks after it started last spring but man did I get addicted. You can tell this from my giddy WE’RE HUUUUGE FANS (we, meaning I, Nikki, not poor Bekah who I told we HAD to talk to these people) exclamation as these three walked up to our camera, cause I am. And by their excited response, we might have been in the minority, which is just crazy. Everyone if you’re reading TN and you got Starz for Outlander, do yourself a favor and get the FULL Starz experience by watching the first season of Black Sails so you can be caught up for season two. It’s a great place to jump in because they’re really just establishing characters and story lines. They did such a great job in intriguing me that each week I would run to Google to learn more about the real people these characters are based on. So if we’re ever playing Trivial Pursuit together, I totally have us covered in the Pirate category (Shhh, just go with me) cause I know the complete histories of people like John Silver and Anne Bonny and Jack Rackam. Yup, #nerd.
And like I say to Jessica Parker Kennedy, there ARE several bad ass female characters in the show including her character who plays Max and you know how much we like strong ladies here at That’s Normal.
