Well, maybe not really, but sometimes you want to read Outlander but you have to read See Spot Run. That seems more like it, doesn’t it?
My toddler LOVES books. So when That’s Normal was approached to review some toddler board books, I jumped at the chance. Basically, the only way I can get him to lay still for a diaper change is by giving him a book to “read”.
Kindness Rules!
Kindness Rules by Eunice and Sabrina Moyle is a super cute book that teaches young children all about manners and etiquette. My son loves this book because of its bright colors and how it’s loaded with all kinds of animals we point out and talk about.
Is That Your Dad?
Is That Your Dad by Carles Ballesteros is a book all about a frog looking for his dad. As you turn the page, the faces change along with the story. I was a little worried that Jack was going to destroy this book, as he has been known to completely break and tear apart board books. But, two months in and this guy is still sturdy and good to go!
My Magical Mermaid
My Magical Mermaid by Yujin Shin is a fun undersea book with a lot of interactive features. You can pull, spin, push, and slide your way through this book. Jack loves this book so much it goes with us out of the house.
My only goal as a parent is to give my child a love of books. I love reading so much (clearly, That’s Normal). So for me, I want to instill in him the joy of a good book and the ability to escape into a story. We keep books in almost every room of the house and in our to go bags. These three books from Abrams Books are happily a part of everyday lives.
