All The Reasons That Game of Thrones Finale Sucked

If you have a pulse and have been anywhere on the internet over the past few weeks, you probably know that Game of Thrones fans are NOT happy with the latter half of the finale season of Game of Thrones. Call it unmeetable expectations, or a rush job (they’ve had two years but whatever), or shoddy writing, whatever you wanna blame this season on, there’s probably some truth to it. 

And here’s ALLL the reasons why it was terrible.

Season 8 Should Have Been Broken Up into TWO Seasons:

OR S7 and S8 should have been two FULL seasons. Fight me… and everyone else on the internet.

Dan and Dave Can’t Write?

In points the below video makes perfectly clear, it sucks to come to the conclusion that without George RR Martin’s actual storylines and not just an outline of how it will end, D & D went way off the reservation and out of the remote realm of good ideas and created both the zombie heist story line, dragons being shot out of mid-air because ‘Dany forgot’ (?!?!?!?!), and completely glossing over Bran as the three-eyed raven, wtf he was doing during ALL of this, and oh yea why was the Night King such a big deal, only to be sorta easily defeated and then we’re never told much else about it? If I ever happen to see them at a party at Comic-con again (it’s happened a few times), I might be forced to heckle them. Doofuses.

Slate even went to our old buddy Ron D Moore for a take on writing a finale that fans hate. OUCH. Savage, Slate!

Dany and Jon

And while I think THAT last scene with Dany and Jon was poignant and probably the best of the episode, they were both done SO dirty by this show that it didn’t matter, sadly.

Plus, did Jon give himself up after killing Dany? Why would he have been captured it was the perfect crime! Jon: “I don’t know Greyworm, Drogon just came in and lit fire to the whole place and they were gone. Not sure where they went? Ok, headed back to the north… see ya at the next fight for the end of the world!”

Jaime / Cersei / Brienne

Everything about this drives me mad still. Days (and a week later). This was bad storytelling at it’s core. You spent seven seasons building up the redemption of Jaime (along with his budding love/respect for Brienne) and the downfall of Cersei and they crushed it (literally) under a building, in what is now the lamest and most wasted death of two major characters. I am righteously angry about this one and will probably not stop being until I read how George ends this whole thing.

Essentially once D&D ran out of actual plot and story from George, they started fumbling the ball. HARD.
