In this edition of WHAT THE HECK IS CBD?! We’re going to review some products. Some of which, I bought with my own money, some of which were given to me by the companies to review, and one product I actually WON! (Just like you can win with our excellent CBD Giveaways! Check out the bottom of this post for more information. But you know, like read the full post first because it’s somewhat entertaining.)
Real quick deets about me and why I use CBD products to manage…..ME. I am 34 years old, a mom, I work from home as a freelance writer/content creator (yes, that’s a real job). I have anxiety, fibromyalgia, my TMJ’s are literally crumbling inside my face and I am getting joint replacement surgeries soon, I have lived with severe chronic pain since I was 16 years old, and I have wicked GERD which makes taking some pain killers and nearly any anti-inflammatory pills impossible to take.
So, with that info in mind, let’s review some products, shall we?
CBD Living
CBD Living makes a wide array of CBD products, so much so that you may not know which product you want to try first. I know that was my problem. The good thing about being a CBD company with so many products? You’re liking to have something for everyone.
Vegan Sleep Aid*
CBD Living Sleep Aid was on my short list of products that I NEEDED to try. I take 10mg of Melatonin to help me sleep every night. I also take a CBD tincture as an overall treatment for my life (see below). I doubted this product would work for me.
IT. WORKED. The taste reminds me of Dimetapp, from when I was sick as a kid, but sweeter. It’s like a kick in the salivary glands when you first get a taste of this guy, but once you get past that, it mellows out within a nanosecond. And then you mellow out and drift off to sleepy town within about a half hour. Clearly, when I took this, I didn’t take my normal 10mg of Melatonin nor did I take my normal CBD tincture, because I wanted to really test this guy out all on his own. I loved this product.
Milk Chocolate Bar*
This chocolate bar is everything you want a chocolate bar to be. It’s creamy and tastes like expensive chocolate. Each little square has 15mg of CBD, which may not seem like a lot, but at night with a nice glass of Scotch, it’s the perfect amount to help you relax and feel like you’re not cheating on your diet. Because it’s chocolate, but it’s CBD chocolate, so it doesn’t count, right? RIGHT?!
My only problem with this bar is this: it tastes like weed. I’m super sensitive to the flavor/smell of marijuana. It just doesn’t do it for me. Now, that being said, did I hate this bar? Nope. Did I eat the whole thing? Yep. Would I buy it for myself? Ehhhhh, I’d be more willing to invest the money in one of their bath bombs or another bottle of Sleep Aid.
Vegan Water*
Yep, they even have CBD Water. I honestly never thought I would write a review for water before, but here we are. This bottle of water tastes like water smells like water, hydrates…wait for it…like water. Honestly, I have zero complaints about this product. If I was a person who enjoyed working out, or if I had been out in the yard sweating like crazy, I would think this is the perfect product to refuel with.
Vegan Bath Bombs*
You guys, we stan a bomb bath here on That’s Normal. Who doesn’t? But when you take a bath bomb and mix in some high-quality CBD into it, what do you get? A bomb ass bath bomb.
This bath bomb was DA BOMB (you guys, I can’t not make the joke) for my lower back. If my house was on fire, I would have still stayed in that bathtub. My lower back only feels that at peace with itself after seeing my massage therapist.
Alni Body Care
I love this company and I found her through my own research on Instagram. This company was started by a woman who was trying to solve her own chronic pain problem. The owner, Alexandra is quick to answer questions from even potential customers (like I once was) and sends all her products with easy to understand how-to guides.
Vegan CBD Tincture**
What caught my eye about this tincture was that it was unflavored. I had tried some other CBD tinctures years ago that tasted terrible or had a flavor put into it. I want something I can put sublingually (under the tongue) and go to bed. This was it. Very easy to take, zero taste, and I felt better every morning that I woke up after taking this.
Bottom line, I really really loved this product. I just ran out of my first bottle and I will definitely be ordering more soon.
Vegan CBD Pain Salve*
I was sent the lavender salve for review and it smells so good! I am very picky about fragrances, I don’t like anything overpowering, it will trigger a full on migraine. I also pre-judged the “salve” part of this product as something that was going to be hard and possibly get under my fingernails (something I hate). It wasn’t. It’s soft and malleable and easy to massage into all my hurty spots.
