So, in order to help ease the pains of Droughtlander, I went to Richard Rankin’s art show, “In His Mind’s Eye”, and made you this interview.
Some thoughts on the event/video:
- For the record, and to feed into my deep-seated psychological need to be right, the BBC show Saddled did, in fact, come out on April 1st. Give it a listen here.
- I don’t think this venue was one hundred percent ready for an onslaught of Outlander fans. I asked one of the security people at one point, “Ever have anything like this here before?” and he replied with an emphatic “NO.” What can I say, we’re a lot.
- The best part of the event was getting to hang out with other Outlander fans. Frankly, I got super overwhelmed very quickly, but shoutout to Jenny and Kaylie, who made the whole event worth it. Spice Girls dance party FTW.
- Big thanks to Mike, who trekked out to Brooklyn with me when he had NO clue what we were doing or interviewing, and also rolled with the punches when our mic shit out, AND captioned the video for your reading pleasure. Two highlights of the night were when show attendees were kind enough to explain Outlander to Mike, and when Mike and Richard had a camera geek out. Check out Mike’s podcast, because he is the best.
Besties forever.
Enjoy the video! Sorry, I move around a lot when I talk.
