The Man in the High Castle Returns to Save Us All

in TV on 10/04/18 by Julie Leave a Comment

Three years ago, The Man in the High Castle introduced all of us to a dystopian society where nationalism prevailed and democracy was a fleeting thought. We shuddered thinking of a world where Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime ruled over a defeated United States, where our basic human rights and freedoms no longer existed. It was a show filled with What Ifs and made us grateful that this was nothing more than fiction.

After a year filled with political corruption, the resurgence of white nationalism, and threats to human rights, we began to wonder if TMITHC was less of a work fiction and more of a warning of what could and unfortunately was happening to our society.

This week, The Man in the High Castle returns to Amazon Prime with its third season and its timing couldn’t be more apropos.

The second season gave us more questions than answers, and we were left pondering multiple dimensions and the fates of characters we grew to either love (or lust…I’m looking at you, JOE) or loathe. Can’t remember the past two seasons? Here’s your Cliff’s Notes:

While the new season promises to provide some answers, the complexity of TMITHC is certain to raise more lingering questions and more What Ifs.

This past SDCC, we had the opportunity to sit down with the cast – including Alexa Davalos, newcomer Jason O’Mara and the brilliant Rufus Sewell – and crew of The Man in the High Castle, where we discussed what’s in store for this season, new and returning characters, and of course the comparisons to today’s political landscape.

Watch for the interviews. Stay for me audibly fangirling and embarrassing myself over Rufus Sewell.

Executive Producers Daniel Percival and Isa Dick Hackett

Alexa Davalos (Juliana Crane) and Jason O’Mara (Wyatt Price)

Rufus Sewell (John Smith)

Let the Binge Begin! The Man in the High Castle Season 3 is available on Amazon Prime starting October 5th.
