I’m hoping that I’m not the only misunderstood AD fan out there in the That’s Normal universe. I need people to be excited with me. Here’s what he’s up to:
He’s hosting Saturday Night Live this Saturday, 9/29!
Even if not you’re not a Driver fan, it’s still worth tuning in because Kanye is going to be performing. Literally ANYTHING could come out of that dude’s mouth, and you definitely want to be on Twitter if/when he shocks and/or offends people. But also, watch it for Adam because he will probably kill it. I hope he has a lot of skits with Kate McKinnon. Those two together are comic gold. And please, please, baby Jesus and all the saints, let this mean the return of Matt the Radar Technician.
He’s headlining a Broadway play
Maybe this makes me a terrible person, but I really don’t care about seeing a Broadway play. Feel free to convince me of its merits, but I’ve never been to NYC, probably won’t go anytime soon, so I just don’t care about them. BUT, for those of you in the vicinity, you should definitely try to go. The details: It’s called Burn This, it also stars Keri Russell, and it opens in March!
He’s in a Zom-Com
Zombie comedy is a genre I haven’t really explored since Shaun of the Dead. I can’t post pictures of Adam on set, because copyrights, but I can tell you he plays a cop, wields a machete, and wears glasses. It’s like stripper cop meets nerdy librarian meets jungle explorer. Why lie? It totally does something for me. Just go see for yourself here.
He might be playing a CIA interrogator
Little known fact: From the age of 16-19 my 30-year life plan saw me eventually become Director of the CIA. I’ve obviously abandoned that career path (or have I? That’s Normal could just be my cover), but that doesn’t mean I’m not excited to possibly watch Adam as a morally gray, dead sexy CIA agent. He’s starring in The Torture Report, out next year, about the CIA’s post 9-11 interrogation tactics. The rest of the cast is legit, too. Jon Hamm, Annette Benning, Matthew Rhys, and Maura Tierney also star. Or maybe he plays a journalist exposing the CIA’s use of waterboarding and black sites. Either way, I’m here for it.
He’s filming Star Wars Episode IX, in which Kylo Ren admits his undying love for Rey and turns to the Light while still retaining his sulky/sexy personality
This one is just wishful thinking.
We hope you enjoyed this first ever Driver Digest! We promise more Adam Driver news in the future, sporadically.
