In the Waterweeds, your fave Drums of Autumn Read-Along, is Back!

in Outlander on 08/18/18 by Beth Leave a Comment

We know you. We know you have circled November 4th on your commemorative Scottish Highlands wall calendar, but you are looking at the next couple of months and wondering how you are going to spend your time before Outlander returns that day with Season 4 on Starz. Well, we have you covered. In the Waterweeds is back!

If you’re like most of us around here, you really want to re-read (or read for the first time, NIKKI) Drums of Autumn, the book that season 4 is based on, before the show starts. I know I do. The only thing I can remember from DoA is Aunt Jocasta’s house, a guy named Duncan, a canoe and a wedding ring and a wolf. I’m hopeless. But to be fair, I read Outlander and Dragonfly in Amber and Voyager more than once. I have never rekilted (ugh that word) Drums of Autumn. And lordy, if my recall is bad on the books I’ve read twice – and based on our podcast reviews*, our recall is drunkenly abysmal – then I cannot even imagine how many of you will hate us before Hangoutlander is over if we can’t at least get a grip on DoA’s major plot points.

*Sidenote: subscribe and leave a review on the Totally Normal podcast for us. You are sweet and pretty*

So – to that end – for our own education and enjoyment and for our enthusiasm to hangout (literally) with all of you whilst drinking and talking about Jamie and Claire, we are bringing back In the Waterweeds – our live read-along. Every two weeks, you can join us live on YouTube, ask questions, interact on Twitter and on the live feed, win prizes, and generally have a ridiculously fun time talking about books we all know and love.

In the Waterweeds Reading Schedule

Monday night, August 20th is the first episode, and we will be discussing Parts 1, 2 and 3 of Drums of Autumn. Then, every two weeks, we will get together for the next two parts, right up until the show airs on November 4th (when we will start weekly Hangoutlander).
