To celebrate staying inside as much as possible, rolling blackouts, and sweat, I put together a list of all my favorite summer essentials for 2018!
Birkenstocks

Sorry Joe, but these are so incredibly comfortable, support my feet, and look hippie cool, I’m gotta wear ’em. Plus they have created so many fun colors and styles to keep up with the demand, you can have neons and all kinds of styles!

RX Los Angeles Scents
I’ve been living for the Wild Grapefruit scent I picked up at OC Night Market a few weeks back. RX Los Angeles has everything from candles to linen sprays, and a travel roller ball perfume I love. The scents are unique, vibrant, and light, making them perfect for summer. After my current stash of candles are finished, I’m going to give these a whirl and create the perfect oasis of garden meets tropical paradise meets clean scents, in my home.

Overalls

These have been my staple since last summer when I found the perfect slouchy linen pair, since then I’ve expanded into three other colors and styles and am still on the hunt for a good denim pair. Please share your recs in the comments. I need a fix.

Brixton Fiddler Cap
The best birthday present ever, it’s chic, it’s versatile, it makes me feel like Lady Gaga, and it keeps the sun off my head and face, what’s not to love? I’ve been taking this hat in my bag with me everywhere and people LOVE it. It’s made in tons of fabrics and colors, I want them all.

Big Brother on CBS
Don’t even try to shame me for loving this reality game show about people picked to live in a house, have their lives taped (no, not that one), and compete to see who makes it to the end without being evicted. I’ve watched EVERY season from the beginning and devour this crazy show every summer. It doesn’t hurt that some weeks there are three episodes and usually summer is a dud of nothing on tv.

Frozen Gin and Tonic

I just saw Homestate (a restaurant in LA that I love) share a Frozen Gin and Tonic in their Instagram story, so it’s now my mission to make this every week. I found this recipe on The Ktchn.

This Necklace from The Giving Keys
The Giving Keys is an amazing organization in Los Angeles that creates jobs for people transitioning out of homelessness AND they make lovely jewelry. I’ve bought keys from them to wear and to ‘give forward’ to friends and family before, but when I saw this latest design from The Giving Keys, I couldn’t hit BUY NOW fast enough. 10% of the proceeds are being donated to Raices, a service providing free/low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children and family. The key arrived over the weekend and I’ve been wearing it everywhere. Even though it’s a small action, it helps to know there are companies out there who are putting their money and their business where their morals are. And THAT I support 100%! Go buy your own I Really Do Care necklace from The Giving Keys and show those around you, that you do care.
