Review + Giveaway: Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas

Not everyone is fortunate enough to be part of a group chat who can list their favorite Lisa Kleypas novels in order according to which male characters they’d be most willing to climb like a tree, but I am.

Naturally the first thing I did when I received an advanced copy of Hello Stranger was to go bragging at length in that group chat. The second thing I did was regret bragging, because the love for The Ravenels Series is real, it is fierce, and they were quite possibly plotting a way to break into my house to steal the book. I wouldn’t blame them if they did.

Hello Strangers has everything we love in a good historical romance.

A woman who defies her time
Dr. Garrett Gibson, the only female physician in England, is as daring and independent as any man—why not take her pleasures like one? Yet she has never been tempted to embark on an affair, until now. Ethan Ransom, a former detective for Scotland Yard, is as gallant as he is secretive, a rumored assassin whose true loyalties are a mystery. For one exhilarating night, they give in to their potent attraction before becoming strangers again.

A man who breaks every rule

As a Ravenel by-blow spurned by his father, Ethan has little interest in polite society, yet he is captivated by the bold and beautiful Garrett. Despite their vow to resist each other after that sublime night, she is soon drawn into his most dangerous assignment yet. When the mission goes wrong, it will take all of Garrett’s skill and courage to save him. As they face the menace of a treacherous government plot, Ethan is willing to take any risk for the love of the most extraordinary woman he’s ever known.

I mean really, what’s not to love about a bad ass female doctor who can fight off armed assailants with a cane while breaking glass ceilings, making medical breakthroughs and falling in love? Oh I don’t know, how about a mysterious man with an accent who lives in the shadows of society but longs to love in the light? Add in the hottest fencing club scene I’ve read since Sarah MacLean’s Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake and I’m done. Dead. Not even Dr. Garrett Gibson could revive me.

You’re going to love Hello Stranger as much as my two year-old and I did. That’s a lot. Do yourself a favor and buy it now OR take your chances in our giveaway.
