- She knows nothing about education.
- She wants to roll back Civil Rights protections for students in America.
- She wants to take away funds from public schools and give them to for-profit private schools.
But those are substantive reasons. My mind is exhausted from the unending absurdity of these craven grifters in the Executive Branch, and I need a gotdamn break. So let me be real petty for a moment.
I hate Betsy DeVos and her French manicure.

When Betsy sat down for her conformation hearings, she was all highlighted and blown out. Her Restalyn was on point, and her glasses were on her face because she heard that they make you look smarter than you are.
She wore a reddish lip, with a white top under under a blue suit. RED, WHITE, AND BLUE! Just like our flag!
As Betsy waved her hands, explaining that she did not understand the difference between growth vs. proficiency in education, I couldn’t help but notice her nails. Betsy was rocking a French manicure.
Keep It Klassy
The French manicure is a travesty, and I hate it.
A pinkish base with bright white tips sounds okay on paper, but in execution, it looks cheap as hell. This look is not a classic. It’s not understated. I don’t see Stormy Daniels wrapping her French manicure around some dude’s dick and think, “So demure.” Y’all think Sarah Palin holding an AR-15 with her square French acrylics looks prim and polished?
Betsy probably wears a French manicure because she thinks it’s chic and a good look for a rich white lady who bought her way into power.
But check out Betsy’s summer home! Amway money does not buy you class. If a house were a French manicure, it would be this house.

The French manicure is fug, and the French pedicure makes me want to barf. Why do you want to paint your tips white, giving the appearance that you have long-ass toenails?
You see a lot of brides in a French mani/pedi. How about we make the nail art be your “something blue?” You don’t need to borrow style ideas from Michele Bachman on your special day.

Betsy DeVos is a horrible human being, and it’s showing on the tips of her fingers. After she was done asking about under-performing schools in Michigan on Sunday, 60 Minute‘s Leslie Stahl should have pointed at DeVos’s hands and said, “WHAT ARE THOSE!”
