Lucy Stanhope is a quasi-British socialite living in Singapore with her aloof mother and creepy stepfather. Treated as unwanted baggage since childhood, Lucy has developed a cold, callous exterior and a sharp, cutting tongue. With her lavish life of servants, cocktails, and nightly parties, the horrors of the ongoing world war seem far away and not at all interesting.

When scandal forces her to live with a strict aunt in England, Lucy dreams of running away and making it as a Hollywood starlet. She encounters a lonely, half-feral 12 year old boy named Bill, and together they run away to London-she hoping to impress a visiting Hollywood producer, and he to be reunited with his mother. The road to London is long, and beset with challenges, hard truths, and chances for love. Will Lucy and Bill find what they’re both looking for? The Way to London is an absorbing and entertaining read, so grab a cocktail and get comfortable. Buy it TODAY!

Stillhouse Lake

Written by: Rachel Caine

Published on: July 1, 2017

Genre: Suspense

Reviewed by: Leanne

Rating: 5 suspicious southerners

Recommended for: suspense lovers, wives who think their husbands are up to something

Gina Royal was a typical American wife and mother. Just having picked up her kids from school, she did not suspect anything when she saw the red and blue flashing police lights
on her street. However, a freak accident revealed the dark secrets her husband had been hiding for years (no spoilers here). Gina’s life is turned upside down by the devastating truth and internet trolls bent on making her life hell. Gina feels she has no choice but to go into hiding with her two young children.

New identities and addresses can only slow down online stalkers for so long, but after several changes of name, Gina and her kids start to feel safe in their small lakeside community. That’s when the bodies start appearing. The full set up for Stillhouse Lake is unique and the final third of the book races toward an ending that is both satisfying and unfinished. A cliff hanger sets up book two, Killman Creek, out this December. Buy Stillhouse Lake now!

Now that he is 18 Teddy can offically buy ciggerettes and gamble.. You can’t win if you don’t play right? Teddy wins big and Alice wants nothing to do with the big prize.
