Can we all just leave Jennifer Aniston alone?

Ever since the news of Brad and Angelina’s split broke on Tuesday, the interwebs have been filled with an irresponsible amount of speculation about their breakup. I hate divorce, and it is always devastating when couple break up, I even wrote about it when Gwyneth and Chris consciously uncoupled (barf). While I am sad a marriage is ending, this one hasn’t hit me as hard as say Ben and Jen, that one was rough. I think I am actually more impressed that they’ve lasted as long as they did because of the sheer amount of children they have and because of the way their relationship began.

 

While it is seriously grossing me out how much attention this is getting what is really making me angry is how they have pulled Jennifer Aniston back into a drama that she departed from over a decade ago. Outlets like the New York Post and pretty much every entertainment “news” show has had a story or has posted a ridiculous picture of her appearing to cackle with glee over the demise of Jolie-Pitts. In reality, like Taylor Swift, I am sure if Jen had a twitter account she would let us all know that she “would very much like to be excluded from this narrative.”

 

While media outlets have exploited a part of her past that has to be extremely painful this week, even declaring July 20th “Jennifer Aniston Meme Day”  She has to be embarrassed by the amount of attention she has gotten because of the news. I would hope she would be a better person to take any type of joy in the breakup of a family especially one that included six young children, after all she knows first hand how terrible the end of a marriage can be in the public eye.

 

After being in the media this summer for speculation of a pregnancy she wrote an powerful essay about the expectations of childless women in society. Any woman who can respond to having the world judge her for having a burrito bowl before putting on a bikini in such a powerful way is one classy broad, so I am sure this whole drama is the last thing would wants to be connected with. If I have to make a crazy YouTube video in a blanket fort with tears running down my mascara-smudged eyes cry-screaming “LEAVE JEN ALONE!” I will do it, I freaking swear I will!

He can break dance too.

So I think Jen is doing just fine right about now. Beth put it nicely today when she said “Jen got Brad at his best. Now she has Justin at his, she wins.” Yes, yes she does.

Has true love really died with the divorce of Brad and Angelina? Do you really think Jennifer cares AT ALL about this news?
