Yes, THAT Nick.
The highly anticipated announcement was made Tuesday night on After Paradise resulting in mixed responses on social media, but let’s face it; you’re going to watch The Bachelor no matter what. Don’t lie.
What do we know about 35 year-old Nick? Basically everything because this will be the fourth installment of the Bachelor franchise he’ll appear in. Most notably, he was the villain and runner-up in both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe’s seasons of The Bachelorette.
Nick is the bachelor we all loved to hate. I’ve made unending jokes about his q-tip hair and penchant for leather jackets and scarves. There were times when I actively disliked him. Yet, somehow, between the time when he told the entire world he slept with Andi, all the obnoxious arguments he had with Shawn Booth, and the striped board shorts he wore on Bachelor in Paradise I became Team Nick.
Bravo, Bachelor editing team. Bravo.
Still need more convincing? Here are 10 reasons you should be excited Nick is the new Bachelor
-
He likes coffee
I mean, that seems important in a Bachelor. All of those late nights and busy group dates? Caffeine intake is critical. We couldn’t ask for more.
2. He cares about animals
A man who cares about a rabbit is definitely going to care about bringing us entertainment on Monday nights. That just makes sense.
3. He can cook
Okay so technically I have no idea if he can cook or not, but I’m willing to let him try.
4. He loves his family
That’s Nick dancing with his mom at a wedding. It’s probably a safe bet that it was the wedding of one of his siblings because he has 10 of them plus in-laws, nieces and nephews. I’m already planning the menu for the party I’ll host when his final two have to meet the family.
5. He looks good in cold weather gear
It’s important that Nick know how to wear a hoodie and hat considering the Wisconsin native resides in Chicago. I’m sure he owns shirts too, but let’s hope not.
6. He’s smart
The former Salesforce Executive turned model/Reality TV star is intelligent and quick witted. His on camera interviews will be poignant and funny. Plus, he’s going to want to end up with an intelligent woman in the end which always makes for more compelling television. (I’m looking at you, Ben Flajnik.)
7. He loves America
It is an election year after all.
8. He’s funny
You can’t underestimate how important it is to have a Bachelor with a sense of humor. Never forget the disaster that was Juan Pablo.
9. He looks good with a baby
Think of the children!
10. He’s hot
Not that it’s the most important thing or anything.
Did I convince you? Are you Team Nick now? Personally, I can’t wait for the new season to air in January. Let’s talk in the comments!
