Guillermo and team chatted with Chris Hardwick about the upcoming fall release, Crimson Peak and how it’s a classical gothic romance with twists that are “gender liberated.” GENDER LIBERATED YOU SAY?! Yes, please. Guillermo explains that as a father of two daughters he didn’t want a tale about a damsel in distress and that as a storyteller it’s his duty to help retell these kinds of stories. Plus it’s scary. TRUST ME, from the super cut they showed us, it’s SCARY!
Watch the panel in full:
Since the super cut was made specifically for Comic Con, it’s not available online so you can’t be scared at home. Let me tell you though, I was standing in the press area which is near the speakers and caged in with a sub woofer which I was leaning against and moved with each bass note and scary sound it shook my body. Let’s just say I was in a room with like 10,000 people and I was scared someone was going to snatch me.
Watch the trailer again:
Then as is customary, the cast walks to the edge for the press photo op and I got these babies…
Yup, just Tom staring into the depths of my soul while rocking the linen jacket.
