You heard me! According to Variety, The X-Files will be returning for a 6 episode arc on Fox. The air date has not been set, but filming will begin this summer!
ICYMI The X-Files originally ran from 1993-2002, and part of me is a little wary of a revival due to the underwhelming return of shows such as Arrested Development. But with the popularity of shows like The Walking Dead, True Blood, American Horror Story and Sleepy Hollow this is a great time for the paranormal juggernaut to return. In a Fox press release, show creator Chris Carter said he sees this as a return after a “a 13-year commercial break” during which “the world has only gotten that much stranger.”
I don’t know what you’re talking about, Chris.
And here’s the thing I’ve realized while X-Files bingeing on Netflix over the past month: as long as Mulder and Scully are on my television, all is right with the world! And I don’t give a flying fudgesicle if the plots live up to past hype, I just want my FBI boos back! I mean, holy crap, have you seen how much hotter they’ve gotten since 1993?

Soooooo, Mulder and Scully will not only be out solving cases of scary paranormal phenomena and mind-bending alien conspiracies, they will also be doing so as people who do naked things together! I am so freaking excited!!!
