Then things got even better when Marvel pretty much went “Screw it, it’s out there anyway, so here you go” and released the official version that the fans could watch frame by frame in all it’s high-definition glory.
I’m sure fans of the comics are already picking out things that they’re psyched to have gotten a glimpse of (from what I gather a lot of people had been waiting for the first look at the Hulkbuster armor). While I haven’t read the comics, I do love these movies, and a few things stuck out to me as highlights.
Newbies are always fun
We caught a peek at these two in the first post-credits scene in “The Winter Soldier,” and all I know about them is that they’re twins named Wanda and Pietro Maximoff. They come to be known as Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver respectively, and it looks like they’re aligned with the main villain Ultron, or at least start out that way.
This guy is still around!
Hey there Hawkeye! We’ve heard literally nothing about you since the last “Avengers” movie. No cameo or casual mention in one of the other films for you! Were you off shopping for this new costume? It looks like you have more arrows in your quiver than last time, were you hitting all the Dick’s Sporting Goods stores you could find buying more?
I’m a bit of a stereotype and I don’t care
It annoys me to no end when gross fanboys complain that girls only watch these movies for the hot guys. It’s insulting, immature, and inaccurate. Female fans know their stuff. However, that being said, I’m only a mortal woman. But I won’t apologize. Give me crap about swooning over shirtless Thor, I dare you! I’ll have you know that I watch this gif for the plot!
Being a good villain is 90% voice
James Spader has that deep, gravely thing down and I’m creeped out already. I was pumped when they announced his casting, and I’m happy to see that they haven’t added too much of the “robot” effect over his actual voice. The closing lines of the trailer are so good, and proves more than anything that Disney buying Marvel was worth every single penny. Being traumatized by a slow, haunting version of a song from “Pinocchio” isn’t something I ever thought would happen to me, but here we are.
What’s your favorite part of the Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer? Natasha being all kinds of badass dropping out of the helicarrier on a motorcycle? Nick Fury’s new hat?!
