But before you do that, check out these sexy athletes competing in exciting sports like Curling and crazy downhill speeds of Bobsleigh and Luge. I got to take a summertime bobsleigh ride in Lake Placid, NY last year, and trust me, that ride is intense!
Steve Langton (USA) – Bobsleigh
Steve is a veteran member of the USA four-man and two-man teams with several World Championship medals under his belt. As you can see, he’s got the abs to prove it! Cheer him and his team on to medal in the Olympics this year…maybe he’ll rip off his tight bobsleigh suit like a superhero!
Turns out Steve and I almost went to the same Boston college (Northeastern) basically during the same years… I was *this close* to meeting and dating the guy and those abs!!! Ah well, I chose differently and here we are with him as a national hero and me as the person writing about him. But let’s enjoy more photoshoots that exploit his body, shall we?
Oh, and here he is training with our next athlete, John Daly. They’re kind of buds…
But before you get too excited, you have to watch this video of the pair, which is the first in a series that you can also commit at least an hour to watching on YouTube. In this video we learn that Steve is a big Harry Potter fan and into the Red Sox (he’s from Massachusetts, so it’s not really a surprise) and that John isn’t the brightest when it comes to history, but is a Yankees fan and a better dresser than Steve (who seems to enjoy not wearing shirts, which I’m totally okay with).
They’re so incredibly adorable, despite the blow-up doll, I just need more.
John Daly (USA) – Skeleton
Okay, but John is legitimately a Yankees fan… check out this childhood photo of him:
Plus his dad spent years driving him from Long Island to Lake Placid to train for skeleton. Guys, I’ve literally done that drive (yeah, Brooklyn is technically on Long Island) and it’s really long! Like five hours on a good day. DEDICATION! High five, Mr. Daly!
So let’s just take a moment to enjoy his Olympic tattoo and general All-American cuteness…chicks love a ginger!
Thomas ULSRUD (NOR) – Curling
Thomas has been curling since 1983, which is actually the year that Steve Langton was born to put it in context. And maybe curling doesn’t require the same athleticism as other sports, but, let’s not pretend that Thomas doesn’t look like this:
Yeah. I’ll take that. Not to mention his Olympic silver from Vancouver. Or all his like 20 other medals.
Or this little grin:
He’s been medalling in World events since I was 3 years old, which should be gross to me, but totally isn’t because he’s smoking hot. Also, while I know essentially nothing about curling, I can appreciate their affinity for ridiculous pants.
Someone made this epic fan video, so just enjoy (and probably hit mute on the music…lolz I love the internet!):
(also, I just want you guys to know that I had to do a really intense search entirely in Norwegian to find that photo of him shirtless. I don’t read Norwegian, mind you, so you should really feel some gratitude here! Also, I now know the Norwegian word for ‘body’! It’s kroppen)
Tobias Arlt (GER) – Luge
Arlt is part of what I’m dubbing Team Four (both members of the team are named Tobias–get it?) for the German luge team. He and his partner Tobias Wendl are both pretty cute, but I’m entirely taken by Arlt’s crystal blue eyes, which are then melted by his warm smile.
source (Left – Arlt; Right – Wendl)
Btw, when not doing luge, Tobias is a federal policeman! Heck yes! Man in uniform… I wonder if you can special request the officer you talk to in Germany?
And on top of all this, he rocks the button down like a true Abercrombie model:
But before you go taking him too seriously, I had to share this gem I stumbled across #epic
Luge events begin on February 8th
Bobsleigh events begin on February 16th
Skeleton events begin on February 14th
Curling events begin on February 10th
*As a follow-up from Week 1, Blake Skjellerup will not be at the Olympics this year for New Zealand, but he gives an interesting interview to Salon that you can read here.
Courtney, Katy, and Lorena want to thank you (yes, you in particular!) for joining us these past four weeks in a celebration of Olympic passion. Grab your favorite snack and enjoy the Opening Ceremonies tonight… Let the Hunger Games begin!
