Why Didn’t Anyone Tell Me to Watch ‘Community?’

in on 01/08/14 by Jamie 23 Comments

I recently fell prey to whatever super germs are fermented in snot-filled daycares in the winter (never mind that I don’t actually have a child attending daycare as that is a story for another day.) During my post-Christmas illness that still hasn’t fully left me, I decided to finally watch one of the NBC shows that I have been meaning to get around to for near forever. For the longest time, I confused Community with Parks and Rec, both shows on NBC that have some of my favorite people. I could never seem to find the time, space on my DVR (why are all shows on Thursday nights?), or motivation to watch these shows. Even the lore of funny man and highly attractive, ex-football player, Joel Mchale could not break my stubbornness. I could blame it on conflicting Thursday night shows (you try giving up on Grey’s Anatomy after all these years. I am invested in that show until that damn hospital blows up (again)), or my initial confusion on which show was actually the right show, but I more so blame it on my so-called friends. Why didn’t anyone tell me to watch Community?!?

First, no one told me how crushable Joel Mchale is on the show. He’s hot on The Soup on E!, but something about his character, Jeff brings it to another level completely. I am not even swayed by the amount of times that he just happened to be shirtless on the show….well, okay maybe a little.

Seriously though, VERY ATTRACTIVE.

The show is hilarious, filled with current and past pop-culture references and my little shipper heart has found a new couple to be always and forever. Meet Annie and Jeff. Never truly destined for each other, but damn, this girl can hope!

They are friends, that are often attractive to each other, but she’s neurotic and he’s an ass. Plus she’s quite young and he is jaded from the world. Has the makings of a good erotic novel. Even better, they call each other milord and milady! *cue collective aww*

So thanks to fever dreams, I found community. And because I don’t want you to miss out like I did, check the show out on Hulu.com (bet there is a free month trial floating somewhere on the interwebs). DO IT. Don’t MISS OUT. Season 5 is currently airing on NBC.

What shows did  you miss out on originally? Are you watching community?
