I am madly in love with Will Sumner.
“Who,” you ask? Oh, Will Sumner is the Beautiful “Player” the book is about, of course!
Real Quick Book Recap:
Hanna Bergstrom is a dorky girl stuck in the lab all day getting her grad degree at Columbia. Her brother visits her and tells her she’s a loser & has to get out more. He suggests she meet up with his bff, Will Sumner. Hanna is like, “Um no, that would be weird (yes yes yes)” and gives him a call. Fun fact about Hanna- she has been fantasizing about this sexy friend of her brother’s since she was a KID.
Will and Hanna start hanging out. Will thinks Hanna’s innocence is adorable but Hanna wants to learn how to be sexier & more confident, especially when it comes to men. So she asks Will, her friend, to teach her. And you can imagine where it goes from there. (TO amazing places.)

2. Under those tattoos Will’s body is ridiculous.
Will is super fit and is running some major triathalon thing that they only allow the sexiest guys to run. Trust me. He might be fictional but I know he’s super hot.
3. Will is older than Hanna and SO experienced sexually.
Yet he never makes her feel dumb for her inexperience. In fact, he relishes that part of her & loves that she is so excited to learn and experience the little “new” things.
He’s so grown up he owns a pinstriped shirt & a vest
4. Will, despite being the kind of guy that has scheduled sex with lady friends, doesn’t think twice about hanging out with the kid sister of his best friend.
He is a wealthy, smart venture capitalist- a real grown-up who drinks scotch. But he goes with Hanna to a grad student house party with cheetos smushed into the rug and a keg of cheap beer. Sure, he’s really obsessed with Hanna’s chest & that’s enough to get him there, but he really had no sexual intentions with Hanna (until she made it clear that SHE DID)
5. Despite the fact that Will is described as a “Player” I don’t think he is. Anymore.
He maybe once was & hurt a few girls in his younger years, but as an adult he’s upfront with what he wants to give and what he expects from women. If they are cool with it, they go along with it (WHO WOULDN’T?) He loves women. And they love him back. But through his interactions with Hanna, he realizes that he doesn’t want to jump from bed to bed anymore. He’s got the sexiness of a guy with a ton of experience, but eventually, he only has eyes for 1 girl.

Will and Hanna Dry Hump
When is the last time you read a book (non-YA) where there was a hot dry humping scene? Probably never, right? Because who writes about dry humping when there’s much more scandalous stuff to write about? Christina Lauren do, that’s who. And I’m so glad they did.
This book is seriously my favorite of the Beautiful Bastard series. The characters are so likeable, the story is believable & I think Christina Lauren somehow found my high school diary and created the man of my high school fantasies.
