Do you ever find yourself looking up a movie (Prometheus left me slightly baffled) after you’ve seen it and randomly clicking on link after link, then find yourself in front of the holy grail of awesome? That is how I came across Comic Book Girl 19‘s Youtube channel and it was too good not to share. I watched for the insightful, funny and intelligent analysis of the movie, but stayed for the charismatic reviews of TV shows, Movies and as you may have guessed, Comic Books.
To any comic book reader, I’m a novice, or probably not even seen as a reader at all as I have only read Buffy The Vampire Season Eight and the first volume of Season Nine. Shaming myself even further, I’ve actually only bought one comic book in a store, the rest were from Amazon. Despite my inexperience, I am enthralled by the videos. I like the X-Men, Spider-man, Avengers – I grew up watching the cartoons. Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the justice league, all favorite cartoons. CB19 talks about them, raves about them, curses about them and just is all around enthusiastic.
Movies
2013 movies, premature judgments, count me in! Best quote from the video, ” I love giant things hitting each other.” Heh. Me too.
Comic Books
If you are inspired after watching a movie or even one of these videos to start reading comics (we’re young, right?), this is the how to guide for the “nooblers.”
I realize this post got a bit fan girly, but really this is just my way of getting other people to watch so I can talk about the awesome. Not that I always agree with her reviews. CBG19 hates my girl Wonder Woman and she’s been a favorite ever since I was four and had the matching tank top and undies. Unlike the Robstens of the world, I don’t need to always agree to have a laugh.
Have I led you astray? Ever? Don’t answer that.
Which 2013 movies will you be watching? Anyone feeling any better about Prometheus?
