Have you ever been REALLY surprised by someone’s online persona? Sometimes a good crush can go totally south when you see their Twitter feed, but rarely does it work the other way around. I admit that I am totally guilty of throwing shade at swimsuit models and assuming they have zero personality or brains. I see it as a learned defense mechanism, really. Some higher power saw fit to teach me a lesson, for I have found my spirit animal/fairy godmother: she is Chrissy Teigen.

Then I found her blog, where she not only experiments with some pretty intense recipes but also gets into some shockingly honest life chats about FEELINGS (it actually surprised me how close her anxieties were to my own). …But mostly it’s an ode to bacon and noodles, with some cute dog pictures. And the food? The food is GOOD. Try her chipotle marinade, stat. I really appreciate that, unlike many of her peers, she doesn’t claim to eat crap all the time, never work out, and never have an issue with her job. She’s pretty honest about it: she LOVES food (she went to culinary school!) and has a job that isn’t very forgiving in that department. That being said, it’s far from a pity party: she’s self-deprecating, wild about food, and a little crazy. I kind of can’t wait until she does something food related full time, and doesn’t have to worry about being in a bikini anymore (I bet she can’t wait, either).
