Movie Trailers That Make Me Want To Go To The Movies

in Movies on 06/21/19 by Laura Leave a Comment

I hate going to the movies. The seats hurt my knees, the prices hurt my wallet, and I have to sneak booze into my local movie theaters because they don’t sell it. I’d rather be home watching a movie so I can play on my phone while watching the movie at the same time.

My husband LOVES going to the movies, so much so that he watches movie trailers nonstop at home. It’s annoying. But with that being said, he was watching a Youtube video full of trailers recently and some of them caught my eye and got me off my phone. #Miracle

Here’s a real quick list of trailers that are actually making me want to go to the movies.

Luce

Oh my god, this movie looks sooooo good. First of all, can we talk about how Octavia Spencer always kills in every part she’s played? If Octavia Spencer is in a movie, chances are I’m going to love it!

This psychological thriller is about a boy named Luce who may or may not be mentally torturing his teacher. Or maybe his teacher is mentally torturing him. I don’t know but I want to know.

After The Wedding

After The Wedding is another one that makes me so intrigued to know what’s really happening. This movie is like an onion, it has layers (Shrek reference #1). Isabel, played by Michelle Williams, lives and works in an orphanage she has dedicated her life to. A super rich lady Theresa, played by Julianne Moore, wants to give her a HUGE amount of money, but it seems kind of shady. And then it turns out that Isabel knows Theresa’s husband. And when I say knows, I mean knows Theresa’s husband.

Doctor Sleep

I LOVED The Shining. I watch it all the time. I watch Youtube conspiracy theories about it. I even watched all the “making of” documentaries about The Shining movie. Seeing that the sequel is coming out, makes me so excited I can’t explain it. It’s going to be sooooo good. I haven’t read the book and now I’m on the fence about whether I should read it before watching the movie or not. I kind of want the surprise, I kind of want to know NOW what happens. Send help in the way of whether I should read or not prior to watching!

Katie Says Goodbye

Katie Says Goodbye is the story of a small town waitress trying to save up money to leave her small town. It should sound boring. It should be cliche, but to me, it’s not. This seems like the kind of book I would read. Olivia Cooke looks amazing in the film and I can’t wait to watch it.

Them That Follow

Them That Follow looks slow and intense at the same time. A deeply religious family isn’t too happy with the partner their daughter has chosen, I think? It’s kind of hard to tell what exactly is going on in this trailer, but I still dig it. There’s a lot of intense drama and also snakes. For me, this is OK, because I love snakes, but if you’re scared of snakes, maybe skip this one.

Scary Storied To Tell In The Dark

I wrote about the first trailer of Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark a while back. I knew I wanted to see how the movie then just based off of my deep love for the books as a child, but then this next trailer came out and we get to see more of the movie and how the stories all mesh together. I am so sold on this movie.

Truth be told, I probably won’t see this one in the theater though. I call this type of movie a “kitchen movie”. Which means I need to watch it from the kitchen in order to get through it.

Brittany Runs A Marathon

I was sold on this movie trailer simply from watching Brittany (Jillian Bell) struggle to run. I felt that on a bone-deep level. Bone deep, right in my shins to be precise. This is the tale of a woman trying to get her life together while getting healthy at the same time. I relate so hard to this. I need to get my life together and get healthy at the same time. Brittany Runs a Marathon looks like such a cute movie and as it turns out is a true story!

Good Boys

This movie is probably going to be this generation’s American Pie, but I’m still here for it. First of all, the trailer features one of my favorite songs of all time, Nobody Speak by Run The Jewels and DJ Shadow. I LOVE that song. My toddler also loves that song, which probably means I am a bad Mom.

Good Boys looks hilarious and I love how innocent and sweet the boys are in this trailer. I laughed way too hard at this movie trailer, which definitely means I need to see the movie.

There you have it, a whole bunch of movies that make me actually want to go to the movies. Bad knees, contraband booze and all.

Have you heard of any of these movies? Which ones caught your eye?
