Background
We last saw Zac take a turn as Fandral in Marvel’s Thor franchise only to be unceremoniously killed by Hela at the beginning of Thor: Ragnarok. That’s when DC came calling and picked him to play Billy Batson’s alter ego Shazam! Think Tom Hanks in Big but only with superpowers. Billy Batson is 14 and has been in and out of foster homes when he stumbles upon his newfound powers. Freddy Freeman, his best friend and fellow foster brother, is along for the ride to test out the new powers and see where things go.
Zero to Hero
Normally you think of DC Comics being all dark and brooding, but this seems like quite the change up being quite comedy driven. Also if you’re not singing “Zero to Hero” form Hercules right now, I don’t know what’s wrong with you. Because Zac went from Chuck to Shazam in the last 10 years with a detour as Flynn Rider along the way.
What’s The Deal With Captain Marvel?
We all fangirled over that other Captain Marvel movie a few weeks ago right? Well, in the world of comics, the Shazam! character was actually originally called Captain Marvel and some of those same trolls who wanted to tank the Brie Larson film, tried to pit Zac against Brie. They have even gone as far as harassing him! He fired back on his Instagram story telling the trolls they aren’t helping DC, Warner Bros or his own movie. Twitter user @itsjustanx uploaded his instagram live video where he called out everyone saying “there’s no conspiracy here”
Here’s @ZacharyLevi asking fans to stop piting #CaptainMarvel and #Shazam against each other, because IT ISN’T HELPING ANYONE. He’s also calling out the fake reviews and fabricated/defamatory posts about @brielarson. —It’s time for those people to really listen. pic.twitter.com/SzL0iowj5T

Can we all just agree Brie and Zac together? Both can exist and we all can get along?
