Long Shot with a “Shockingly Available” Celebrity

in Movies on 04/23/19 by Emily Leave a Comment

Earlier this month Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen were interviewed at CinemaCon while doing press for the film Long Shot. Entertainment Tonight’s Kevin Frazier asked how a regular guy could go for the long shot with Charlize and what came next were words that resonated around the world. Charlize said that she is “shockingly available.” Sure she’s dated Sean Penn and Stuart Townsend, and has been linked to Brad Pitt in the past, but finding “the one” just hasn’t been easy.

Since that comment, and follow-ups about guys needing to grow a pair and just ask her out, it seems several have taken her at her word. Now people won’t stop talking about it, and my local entertainment reporter even got in on it during a junket.

What does it take?

The film Charlize and Seth are promoting is Long Shot. Charlize plays Charlotte Field, the Secretary of State and a woman running for president. Seth plays journalist Fred Flarsky, and Charlotte was his babysitter as well as his first crush. Watch the trailer and see what you think, could this long shot relationship have a shot?

Seth Rogen movies aren’t typically my type of go-to film, but this seems like a cute enough movie that I’ll go see. The film also starts O’Shea Jackson Jr., who you’ll recognize from Straight Outta Compton. Bob Odenkirk and Andy Serkis also star, and Alexander Skarsgård shows up as a Justin Trudeau Canadian Prime Minister-type. The movie opens May 3.

Hot Ones

Also for your enjoyment, my latest obsession is the show Hot Ones on Youtube. Celebs are interviewed while eating a selection of increasingly spicy chicken wings. Here is Charlize eating hot wings from March 2018.

Have you ever taken a long shot in a relationship? What are you thoughts on being shockingly single at 43?
