Jamie C recently had a baby, and once she got cleared for working out, we thought she’d be PERFECT to try out some new protein powder products Naked Nutrition contacted us to try out! Here is her review.
Get Naked!Okay, you can leave your pants on. I’m here to talk about a few Naked Nutrition products. They were kind of enough to send me some vegan chocolate protein powder, powdered peanut butter and pre-workout to try out. They even threw in an awesome blender bottle!
I love a good protein smoothie. I’ve tried several brands and flavors over the past few years, some are way better than others. Some taste like I blended up a box of flavored chalk and that isn’t something anyone should have to suffer through. I want to enjoy what I’m drinking, especially when it’s something that is supposed to be good for me. And I did enjoy Naked Nutrition’s protein powder and powdered protein. I made my go to protein smoothie recipe and it was damn good:
Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Smoothie
- 1 scoop Chocolate Less Naked Pea Protein
- 2 scoops Naked PB
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 10-12oz Flaxmilk
- 1 frozen banana
Most mornings I have just enough time to get my workout in before my baby needs me and I have to get my oldest off to school. I don’t have much time to make myself a proper breakfast that will keep me from passing out because of low blood sugar, so I drink a smoothie and I’m good to go for at least a couple hours. Sometimes I have time to make myself a smoothie bowl. Those are always fun to make and eat.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Smoothie Bowl
- 1 scoop Chocolate Less Naked Pea Protein
- 2 scoops Naked Pb
- 1 large or 2 medium frozen bananas
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 4-6 oz flaxmilk
- I added blueberries, chopped pecans, pumpkin seeds and hemp hearts to finish off the bowl.
I like that Naked Nutrition doesn’t pack their products with a bunch of unnecessary sugar. Don’t get me wrong I love me some sugar, but I don’t want a bunch first thing in the morning. I also appreciate when stuff can be made with minimal products, isn’t overly processed and still tastes good. The chocolate pea protein powder has 3 ingredients: pea protein, coconut sugar and cocoa powder. Naked PB has one ingredient, peanuts. That’s it, just ground up roasted peanuts.
I will be definitely be buying myself some more of both Less Naked Pea chocolate protein powder and Naked PB once I run out. Considering how large the containers are that may be a little while. The protein powder came in a 5lb tub, the thing is huge! And it has a decent price tag too. Compared to so many other companies who charge almost the same for half what you get from Naked Nutrition.
Now on to the pre-workout. It definitely wasn’t as tasty as the previous two products but it did an okay job when it came time to put some extra pep in my step during my workouts. It’s flavorless but it still had a less than desirable taste to it. I would mix two scoops with 8oz of water and chug it as fast as I could. There isn’t any lingering weird after taste so all in all it isn’t too bad. About 15 minutes after I finish it, the tingles kick in and that’s when I know it is time to get busy. I would have liked it if the effects from the pre-workout lasted a little longer, I could feel it wearing off after maybe 30 minutes.
Overall, I do like it and will gladly finish off the container but I’m still on the fence as to whether or not I’ll buy more in the future.
I thoroughly enjoyed 2 out of the 3 products and will be looking to buying and trying more products from Naked Nutrition in the future! Check them out online at https://nkdnutrition.com/
