Yesterday
“Yesterday, everyone knew The Beatles. Today, only Jack remembers their songs. He’s about to become a very big deal.” Yup, that’s a premise, I’m interested in. Yesterday looks like Beyond the Universe, but not cheeseball and in a fresh way, shares the Beatles catalog without being TOO nostalgic… at least that’s what I’m hoping for. Fingers crossed!
Yesterday hits theaters June 28

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu
Ok, so this would 100% never be on my movie going radar… EVER but this trailer is actually kind of making me interested in a Pokemon movie… and maybe it’s because Ryan Reynolds is the voice of Pikachu and it feels a little subversive like if Deadpool was voicing a Pokemon, but uh yeah. I wouldn’t be sad if my niece asked me to take her to this.
Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is in theaters May 10

Rocketman
Taran Egerton + Robb Stark (Richard Madden) + Jamie Bell + the ultimate basic bitch who would marry a gay man: Bryce Dallas Howard! Biopics about musicians who are still living can be a dicey undertaking, but Bohemian Rhapsody helped shows that these films can show the ugly side as well… here’s hoping Rocketman follows suit in retelling Elton John’s life. Now that Motley Crue biopic on Netflix called The Dirt on the other hand… looks yikes.
Rocketman is in theaters May 31

Stockholm
Ethan Hawke looks CRAZY good in the trailer for Stockholm, which also features Marcus from Twilight (cause #EGBTT). Stockholm is based on a true story about a bank robbery that actually gave us the term “Stockholm Syndrome.”

Little
So essentially this feels like Freaky Friday meets Thirteen Going On Thirty, which means I’m really going to like it. Plus you have Issa Rae and Regina Hall, so where do I get tickets???
Little is in theaters April 12.
.
Drunk Parents
I will 100% be watching this on a plane in the next year.
Drunk Parents is in theaters April 19.

And then there’s this:
DUH. We’ll all be there May 3rd.
