Razzle Dazzle ‘Em
If you don’t think the best part of the episode was Diana Trout (Miriam Shor) and Cheryl (Martha Plempton) doing Cabaret, you’re wrong. I shouldn’t have to explain this. It just is. I’m going to need social media to take a break from politics long enough to create some buzz for a spinoff based on this scene. Make it happen for me!
Plaza-bile
It is totally plausible. Cheryl’s intentions could be 100% pure. Cheryl recognizes Liza’s talent and wants to help her advance her career at a company where she won’t have to lie about her age. Charles will no longer be Liza’s boss, and they will be free to ride into the sunset, or to Paris. Wherever they want. Everyone wins! However, my gut tells me there wouldn’t be much of a season next summer if Liza’s big plan ran smooth. I am curious how Cheryl catching Liza in her walk of shame will play into it all. Could it be Cheryl’s ultimate goal is to destroy Empirical by any means necessary while locking Liza into a contract she can’t get out of so easily?
Meh-Moment
Do we really need another “lesbian couple fighting because one wants kids and the other doesn’t” story arc on television? Maybe it seems unoriginal to me because I FINALLY caught up on the final season of The Originals this week, and this was also a point of contention over there. Although, I bet if I think about it I can come up with a few other shows that have gone down this path. One thing is for sure, Malkie sure knows how to ruin good dinner parties. Also, does the name Malkie annoy anyone else? Just me?
