IKR?! Remember? We think Liza and Charles will finally get their shot at a happy ending (once she fesses up to the whole being 40-something thing), then BAM! Here comes his estranged wife, Kate, touting her tell-all novel about their failed marriage, ruining everything. Could Charles be a little less innocent than he appears as the lonely, jilted father? Gasp! Thanks to Simon & Shuster we can find out as Marriage Vacation hits shelves the same day as the season premiere! I don’t want to spoil anything for any of you, but I will give you a few juicy details.

Who does she think she is?

I’m team Charles ALL THE WAY! I know, Josh is impossibly hot and super cuddly. He’s everything Liza needed to shake out the cobwebs after her own failed marriage, but Charles is her soulmate. Once he gets over the initial shock of her real age, he’ll understand why she lied, and they can be together forever with their adorable little family.

At least that was how it was going to play out in my mind, until his wife showed up. I WANTED to hate her. I expected to be disgusted. What kind of woman picks up and leaves her perfect husband behind abandoning her children to go on some self-indulgent journey to find herself. Cue the eye roll. We’re over the Eat, Pray, Love story. Get over yourself, lady.

Here’s the thing, as Kate’s story began to unfold, I went through a lot of the emotions I describe above, but suddenly found myself starting to understand her situation. I think a lot of women can relate to feeling swallowed up in a relationship, barely able to remember the person we were on our own. I know how it feels to sacrifice some of my dreams for the good of my family, and Liza relates as well. That’s why she’s drawn to this writer, and agrees to help her even after she discovers who she really is.

And…

You’ll find out what happens on page 58

Dying to know what Liza reads that has her waking up like this?

It does not disappoint!
