I will never stop because I love beauty products, and I find the regimen of it to be soothing. I like a bottle telling me what to do. Rub this in. Slather this on. Let it sit. Rinse. Repeat.
Give me those chemicals and those pretty GMOs. I’m headed into the shower!
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Shampoo
Marketing hooked me on this one. I’m only wash my hair every two to three days, thanks to the wonders of dry shampoo. So when Living Proof has a shampoo for “helping you wash your hair less often,” I am in.
My hair, which is plentiful but very fine, does not get as oily on day two. And my fine hair feels thicker when I use it.

Suave Honey Infusion Shampoo
This is my daughter’s shampoo.
I use it to wash my ladybits. There is a “honey for my honeypot” joke here, but I won’t subject you to that.

Redken Extreme Mega Mask
This treatment mask won an Allure Best of Beauty award, and that trophy–I hope they get a trophy–was legit.
I have been coloring my hair ( with BLEACH) for over 20 years, and I do all I can to keep it healthy. A few months ago, I noticed some breakage , so I started using this mask to prevent any further damage. When I use it, my hair feels soooo soft, and I annoy everyone around me by continually touching it.

OUAI Repair Conditioner
How do you pronounce this brand? I got no idea, but I say it like Kevin Kline says “Oui” in the movie French Kiss. huh-WAY.
I found this gem when Sephora gave me a sample. It makes my fine hair smooth without weighing it down. But the reason I love it is it smells like my favorite perfume, L’Eau de Chloe…WHICH CHLOE DOESN’T MAKE ANYMORE.

Dr. Bronner’s Lavender Soap
Bodywash is a waste*. The puff-thingy gets gross, and there is no need to add another plastic bottle to your recycling bin. When soap is done, it’s done.
Dr. Bronner’s is very gentle on sensitive skin, and lavender is the best scent. It helps me relax and forget I am using $100 worth of products in the shower.
*Fully acknowledging I am using 5 to 6 other plastic bottles in the shower. #hypocrite

Trader Joe’s Shaving Cream
I will not put mango in my mouth, because that fruit is nasty. But I will slather it on my legs.
I have super sensitive legs (thanks, eczema!), and this shaving cream doesn’t irritate my skin. It has the slick texture you want, and it lasts forever.

Gillette Mach 3 Razor
My favorite New England grocery store, Shaw’s, encourages us to “Buy local.” I shit you not, they include Gillette in the “Buy local” campagin along with Polar Seltzer.
I’ve been using the Mach 3 since it came on the market in 1998 because it works. The best razor is simple and shaves you close. That’s all you need. I mean, have y’all seen that ad for the new Shick lady razor that you can rub on your legs in both directions? Hell. No.

Boscia Tsubaki Cleansing Oil-Gel
I don’t think you should spend a ton on face cleansers that end up going down the drain. BUT, I really like the Tsubaki cleanser because I can use it on my Clairsonic and it doesn’t leave the brush smelling funky a few days later. Basically, I’m super lazy about cleaning my face scrubber and if it smells clean, it’s clean.
Tsubaki oil is camellia oil, and it leaves my skin feeling clean yet very hydrated, aka not tight. Camellia oil has anti-oxidants and Omega 3s, and geishas use it to take off their stage makeup.
