Coming to a bookshelf/e-reader near you on March, 6th 2018, Questions For Deep Thinkers is the kind of book that I would take anywhere in order to break the ice. With questions like: “Is the Muffin Man in the nursery rhyme a human man who makes muffins or an anthropomorphic muffin akin to the Gingerbread Man?” and “Does a selfie qualify as a self-portrait?”, I can only believe this book was written by my future best friends.
This book is not only asking questions that make YOU think, it’s asking questions that’ll encourage conversations with your friends as well. Since the majority of my friends are used to answering random questions of mine, I decided to tap a new source of opinions, the That’s Normal Team.
Question 1: Would you rather be accepted to Hogwarts School of Wizardry or Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters?
Team Normal Verdict: Hogwarts! With fourteen of us wishing to be able to drink a real butterbeer and four of us hoping for a chance with Wolverine, Hogwarts won this round.
Question 2: Which Wizard of Oz Character would you most trust to be president of the US?
Like typical Ravenclaws, Courtney and Emily asked the important question here, is this pre-gifts from the Wizard of Oz or post? The book didn’t specify so I made the judgment call and said pre-gifts. Keeping that in mind, the winner here was: The Tin Man with thirteen votes. Four of us thought we’re already living this in real life, and no one voted for the Cowardly Lion. Probs because we already know how that presidency looks.
Question 3: Who would you rather have a Freaky Friday body swap with for a day: Jay Leno, Jay-Z, Jaden Smith?
With ten votes for Jay-Z, he was the winner, but I am going to say that I’m ninety-nine percent sure that he won solely based on who he’s married too. Five of us voted for Jay Leno. I, myself, voted for Jay Leno due to his impressive car collection and the thought that I could drive them all as fast as I wanted and Mr Leno would be responsible for paying the tickets. Sorry, Jay, but this girl has a need for speed and a need to not spend any money.
This book is seriously cool and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to think outside of the box and have weird conversations with people.
