The Thrive 8 week “premium lifestyle plan” is a three step program for “weight management, cognitive performance, digestive and immune support, healthy joint function, lean muscle support, calming of general discomfort, and age defying antioxidant support”. Phew, that’s a tall order, but I committed myself fully to give it a fair chance.
Step One: Lifestyle Capsule
Thrive is a pretty regimented program. Upon waking up, you take a thrive capsule (there are different ones for men and women) and then wait 30 minutes. For me, this was the toughest part of the program. Generally I am up and immediately pouring coffee down my throat to gear up for the breakfast cooking, lunch packing, kid chauffeuring that is my morning.
Step 2: Lifestyle Mix
Next you have a Thrive protein shake for breakfast. I actually only used this every other day because their protein powder is expensive considering one canister of “Thrive Lifestyle Mix” is only 16 servings.
Step 3: DFT
Finally, step 3 is the transdermal patch or DFT (derma fusion technology). These adhesive skin patches can be placed on a number of areas on the body and are for supporting metabolism and appetite control.
Results
My first week of “The Thrive Experience,” I felt pretty good and lost 3 pounds.
The second week, nothing. Now during the third week, still nothing. Are you sensing a pattern here? I was not really energized by the products, but I had no side effects and I was still committed to the full 8 week experience.
During the final few weeks, the DFT patches started to make me itch where they were stuck to my skin. I rotated the placement of them daily as instructed, but it seems I developed a sensitivity to the adhesive over time.
Sadly my initial 3 pound weight loss was my only weight loss and I did not continue the program after the 8 weeks was up.
I’m starting to think that whole “eat healthy and exercise more” thing may be the only solution.
So what works for you? Have you found something that sheds pounds?
