This was my Everest, and I scaled that mother. Seek and ye shall find this young gentleman at the Le Labo bar of Saks Fifth Avenue.
Like a hot prophet, Mahmoud used his vials and droppers to create for me the fragrance Thé Noir 29, the signature scent that hotel designer/developer Ian Schraeger and Le Labo created for the EDITION hotels.
Thanks to Mahmoud, I have been smelling amazing for nearly two years. You’re welcome, Rhode Island.
But wait! The story doesn’t end there.
The EDITION Hotel Collection
The good folks at Shop EDITION recently reached out to let me know they had launched a new website and line of products called the EDITION Hotel Collection.
Take us home with you. From our signature black tea scent to our luxurious bedding and plush robes, the EDITION hotel collection was crafted just for you. Spoil yourself with our assortment of home essentials representing a new generation of luxury.
They had me at “spoil.”
With the hotel collection, you can wear the robe you wore in the room while you ordered room service and mimosas after a late night of dancing. You can rub a bowling ball, just like the one you threw in the basement bowling alley, where you played ten pin along with the other beautiful people. You can wrap yourself in the plush faux-fur throw you wrapped around yourself in the lobby, because let’s be real: it’s Miami and the central AC is out of control.
The EDITION Candle
While I love thick coffee table books and luxurious linens, the best thing for sale at Shop EDITION is the EDITION Candle, because now not only can I smell like a hotel, my 1917 bungalow can, too.
The EDITION folks sent me one to try out, and I love it. I’m a bit of a fragrance and candle snob. I’m more Diptyque, less Yankee Candle in my taste. I like rich, exotic smells. Keep your apple pie; give me bergamot, cedar and fig.
The scent of the EDITION candle is strong, but not overpowering. Never cloying.
Bring EDITION Hotels home with the exquisite aroma of the EDITION Candle. Embrace the exoticism of robust black tea as our signature scent slowly unfolds with a luminous blend of citrus, smoke, chocolate, pepper and floral notes.
That candle is speaking my love language. It’s telling me, but it’s also DOING. Unfolding. Enveloping. If a candle were sex, it would be this candle. (I might be ovulating, forgive me.)
The candle perfectly replicates the Le Labo Thé Noir 29 aroma I first fell in love with, and I’m burning it with abandon, because I know where to buy another once this one is snuffed.
