Let’s do it:
MUST SEE (MUST WATCH)
Oh my gosh you guys. My friends recommend a lot of things. And I usually ignore them because what do they know? But Tiff wouldn’t shut up about this one. And then Nikki said she watched it. And then Tiff said she watched it THREE TIMES. So…. I had a sinus infection and nothing else to do, and I popped on Michelle Wolf’s Nice Lady HBO comedy special.
Apologies to my friends for not taking their recommendations. This.Thing.Was.Amazing. I want to watch it again and I just finished it. I get why Tiff watched dit three times. It was HILARIOUS.
I don’t really know Michelle Wolf, but I hear she’s from the version of The Daily Show without Jon Stewart. But I want to know everything about her.
Here’s a preview/teaser for the show:
Her giggle kills me.
BONUS: LOVESICK Season 3 Comes back to Neflix on Jan 1, 2018!! I cannot wait! Catch up on why you should love lovesick here
MUST HEAR (MUST LISTEN)
I recently binged TWO podcasts you must listen to.
The first was The Butterfly Effect with Jon Ronson which explores the beginnings of PORN HUB and the effects it has had on the world since it’s inception. It was fascinating. It goes into things you’d never expect (and some you would. Like the increasing number of teens and young men with erectile dysfunction. It can be DIRECTLY related to Porn Hub and Free Porn) It’s a really fascinating exposé and I think you’ll love it.
The other podcast is The Uncertain Hour Season 1. It’s from 2016 and it’s a deep dive into The Welfare System. The tagline for the Show is “Because the things we fight the most about are the things we know the least about.” And that can’t be more true for the season about Welfare. I THOUGHT I understood Welfare, and I didn’t. At all. And I bet you don’t either. It is incredible to see what seemingly “small” policy change can do to a group and groups of people after years go by.
Also there is a soundtrack of Welfare songs that were used in Welfare offices in Riverside, CA in The 90s that you CANNOT miss.
MUST TASTE
It’s the Holiday Season, and I bet you don’t feel like planning meals. I know that this statement will be the same for me in two weeks, after the Holidays, in the middle of February when NOTHING is going on and in the dead of summer. I HATE Meal Planning.
So I let Blue Apron do it for me.
I’ve been getting Blue Apron meals about once a month or so for about 6 months now. I’ve tried Hello Fresh, as well, but I feel like the meals are more interesting from Blue Apron (Plus as a pescatarian, I can get a mix of seafood and veggie options. I was only allowed vegetarian from Hello Fresh)
The Best meal I’ve had lately was this:
Mushroom & Goat Cheese Pasta which was AMAZING mostly because of these garlic-thyme breadcrumbs you made along with it. It was PERFECT for lunch the next day too.
Blue Apron says they’re sending me meals for 2, but generally, unless it’s a meal with a piece of fish, the meal easily feeds 3-4.
MUST TOUCH
My New Shelf. I’ve been dreaming of having a live edge self in my house for a LONG time and my boyfriend recently made it reality.
It was a long process, with many steps (Note: If you attempt a project like this- it’s much easier if you can DRILL into the wall. There is brick behind my drywall, so that wasn’t something I wanted to do.) But the design was custom to fit a particular part of the wall and I’m in LOVE with the final result!

MUST SMELL
This Candle – omg you guys. I grabbed this candle on a visit to Nashville and it smells like handsome man delivered Christmas to your living room. It’s not Pine or Cinnaimon. It’s not Stale Tabacoo (Ya know, like a man) but it smells EXACTLY Ike a handsome man is in your living room, telling you about his favorite memories of Christmas Past. The scent I love is Oak Moss from Ranger Station and the BEST thing about them is that the candle is in a whiskey glass! So when you’re done burning this handsome man of Christmas morn, you can drink him!
Burn sparingly, this bad boy sets you back $36.
