When it was announced a few months back that Chip and Jo would launch a line with Target called Hearth and Hand, I was practically George Costanza-ing all over the place. WORLDS ARE COLLIDING!
Chip and Joanna of Fixer Upper plus everyone’s personal heaven, and the recipient of a weekly (sometimes daily) portion of my paycheck would come together in a holy union of mass merchandising in middle America and modern farmhouse chic design? Where do I get in line!?
For weeks I’ve prowled the aisles waiting for any sign of the new line. I combed the internets and the social media for clues on when I should alert my bank to an upcoming massive charge from Target and no, it’s not fraud. And then I saw this on Chip Gaines’ Twitter (oh what, you don’t follow Chip?)
Y’all aren’t going to believe this.. https://t.co/LTdfl8fbmz

And I clicked through to this post on Target’s corporate blog (what, you don’t read Target’s corporate blog?!) and saw this preview photo:
Cue me and Joe on one of our many weekly trips to Target and what do I see? A house-shaped display covered in tarp in the middle of the home goods section. YAAASSSSSS KWEEN, Hearth and Home was on it’s way to Los Angeles! To Joe’s embarrassment, I even peeked between the openings of the tarp to see what lie beneath (empty shelves). We checked back on every Target trip and finally, on Sunday the tarp had vanished and the goods were on display!!!
Let me tell you… there are some GREAT products… and there are some… ok ones. But the scale definitely tips towards great. Let’s walk through some of my faves… (click on the images to open the galleries)
Home Stuff!
Kitchen and Dining Stuff!
Holiday Stuff!
Kids Stuff!
I don’t even have kids and I was like, this is pretty great! I do have a niece and nephew though and I would defs consider gifts like:
Accessories and whatnots
The not so great stuff…
.
Some definite hits and some yea, I’m not THAT farmhouse chic misses for me, but overall a great first outing for a Target collection. A lot of the signage said “limited time” but I really hope Chip and Joanna create ongoing collections with Target.
Head to your nearest Target or go online and buy ALL the Hearth and Hand things!
