Every couple of weeks we bring you a list of a few books that we’ve read recently that are definitely worth your time. Today we are bringing you two brand new – out on Halloween – novels and one that’s right on theme.
Ready for Wild
Released on: TODAY 10/31/17

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 4 Grump Game Wardens
Recommended for: Readers who want to feel outdoorsy without leaving the couch
For a city girl who self-identifies as “indoorsy,” I really shouldn’t love a book about a game warden and the star of a hunting television show, but I do. I really, really do. You’ll never catch me eating elk meat, let alone hunting for one, but I’ll gladly read any romance novel Liora Blake wants to write about Amber Regan and Braden Montgomery.
Braden is a grumpy game warden in Colorado. He believes in sustainable living, prefers to be in solitude, and doesn’t have a lot of patience for superfluous fluff. Amber Regan is the beautiful, smart-mouthed, and social media loving TV star that he’s been assigned to accompany as she scouts for her next hunting location. Obviously they have no business being into one another and yet, thankfully, there’s absolutely no stopping their chemistry. I’m not saying I’ll be lacing up hiking boots anytime soon, but I’ll crack open any book Liora Blake wants to write. Buy it TODAY!

A Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares
Written by: Krystal Sutherland
Released on: 9/5/17

Genre: Young Adult
Rating: 5 Black Cats
Recommended for: Anyone who likes the Addam’s Family
Esther’s family has a curse placed on them by Death: each of them will be killed by their biggest fears. Her twin brother is scared of the dark, so they leave the house lit up all day and night with candles (in case the electricity goes out). Her dad has locked himself in the basement for the last 6 years because he is afraid of people. Her mother has a goblin disguised as a rooster and multiple rabbits running around the house because the whole rabbit must be luckier than just the foot (she’s afraid of bad luck).
To save herself from this fate, she keeps a list of things that scare her so she can avoid them. And then Jonah Smallwood comes back into her life. By pick-pocketing her. Through a series of events, Jonah convinces Ester to face her fears one-by-one, starting with lobsters.
This is one of the most fun books I’ve read in awhile. There were many a-nights that I whined very loudly “but I just want to reeead my book” when I had to do adult things, like cooking dinner and bathing. It is a YA book, but Esther has the soul of a 30-something year old and her pop-culture references will make you giggle. Buy it.
