Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor
Brand: Revlon
Color/Scent: Seduction
Reviewed by: Nikki
Rating: 4 outta 5 kisses for a drugstore find! Not quite a Kylie Lipkit but maybe a Kourtney lipkit.
Recommended for: People who like matte lip color and have 10 bucks and 20 minutes to kill while they wait for their prescription at the pharmacy.
I found this while waiting for a prescription to be filled and thought, ‘what the heck,’ 10 bucks is cheap enough for me to give it a whirl. After being yelled at by the teenage cashier in the beauty section that “YOU CAN’T TEST THOSE!!!” (In my defense I was NOT testing but took the wand out of the tube to see the real color outside of the bottle, so take a seat McKayla!), I grabbed this color when I might have grabbed Embrace or Kisses which had a tiny bit more of a pink tone. This stays on for quite a while and when reapplied does NOT feel tacky or gross as a lot of matte lip colors do. They have a nice selection of colors including a very dark plum, I want to try and an entire line of matte metallics for the more adventurous among us. An impulse buy for 10 bucks that worked out? I’ll take it! Buy it!
NYX Slip Tease Lip Oil
Brand: NYX
Color/Scent: Entice

Rating: 5 outta 5 tin men asking for oil
Recommended for: People who want a matte lipstick but still want to be able to rub their lips together without them getting all weirdly stuck
It’s my belief that life is too short for expensive makeup, especially lipstick. Which is why I love NYX. Their makeup is really affordable and I’ve never tried something that I didn’t like. But my favorite so far is the Slip Tease Lip Oil. No, oil doesn’t sound great to be rubbing all over your lips, but somehow it creates a matte finish without drying your lips out completely. Your lips won’t look like your last chapstick application was 1997, which is something I can get behind. Entice is a muted mauve tone which seems to be in right now. But I’ll probably end up with every color. Buy it!
Tart Maracuja Oil
Brand: Tarte
Color/Scent: NA

Rating: 5 out of 5 oil cans
Recommended for: People with dry skin but can be used for hair and even nails! Can be used on any dry skin, not just your face.
I received a .5 oz bottle in my Dec 2016 Ipsy bag. I use this every other day and I still haven’t used half of this bottle. You only need a few drops of this amazing potion. I have terrible complex and dry skin. And now, after having surgery this summer, my 42 year old self is going through a weird sort of hormonal puberty again where I break out. It seems odd to want to put oil on your face but my forehead is so dry, it soaks up this oil and my make up looks I am put together and not so much like I have a flaky scalp. Seriously I’m in heaven. Full price from Tarte or Amazon it can be pricey but it’s an investment I would make again and again. . Buy it!
Phytomer Peeling Vegetal
Brand: Phytomer
Color/Scent: NA

Rating: 5 out of 5 baby faces
Recommended for: People with sensitive skin that want to avoid getting shamed by their dermatologist or aesthetician for having “surprisingly dull skin”.
As someone with incredibly sensitive skin, exfoliants have been something I’ve always avoided. I discovered Phytomer’s Peeling Vegetal while luxuriating through a facial at a nearby swanky hotel. Cause nothing says “I’m going to waste money to forget how old I’m getting” like blowing an obscene amount of cash on a “purifying oxygenating facial” at a hotel you can’t afford. Honestly, my first impression was simply how amazing it smelled. So apparently, not all exfoliants are like liquefied sandpaper à la everyone’s teen-staple St Ives Apricot Scrub – who knew?! This stuff is smooth and feels super amazing. Plus, the aforementioned smell is fantastic. Interesting aside: I got a few samples of Phytomer’s CC cream from the spa and it smells just as incredible, so bonus points! Being able to find an actual skincare product that doesn’t exacerbate my rosacea, and makes my skin crazy smooth, has been one of my major accomplishments as an adult. It’s all about attainable goals, y’all. This is definitely a splurge purchase, but I’ll be factoring this in to my pretty lady budget for the foreseeable future. Buy it!
Not Your Mother’s ‘Way to Grow’ Leave In Conditioner
Brand: Not Your Mother’s
Color/Scent: Very lightly scented
Reviewed by: Emily L
Rating: 5 out of 5 Rapunzels
Recommended for: Anyone who is low-key trying to grow their hair out, but also wants a detangler that strengthens, softens, yet doesn’t leave behind any residue.
I’ve tried a decent amount of leave-in conditioners or detanglers. I was sold on It’s a 10 Miracle Leave In, despite the fact that it’s around $30 a bottle. Then I realized I can’t afford to spend that much on a detangler, despite my love for my hair. So I tried Not Your Mother’s Way To Grow leave-in conditioner and I was sold. It’s relatively cheap and actually does a much better job of detangling, strengthening, and reducing frizz for my hair. This isn’t going to make your hair 6″ longer overnight but it definitely makes your hair healthier, stronger, and more inclined to grow. Buy it!
