The History
Boozy Book Club was born out of the desire that we had to find new books and book series that reminded us of the obsession we had over The Fever Series, the Twilight Saga and Outlander. We wanted to try new authors, new genres and new worlds. So each month we picked one main book and one optional one (for those who have already read the main, or aren’t interested in reading it), and then we got together in a live hangout, got drunk and tried to talk about them.
If you’re brand new to Boozy Book Club, check out our very first episode, where we read the new release, Written in Red by Anne Bishop. We were hoping for the steamy world of The Fever Series and got #SaveTheWolves instead. But whatever we thought of the novel … we look like BABIES.
Also, watch what is INARGUABLY the drunkest episode of Boozy Book Club (verified by the author herself, Kresley Cole, who told us once that she died laughing watching us drunkenly talk about her book) on Poison Princess. It also boasts the worst screengrab of all time of me. Thank, YouTube.
The Boozy Book Club Rating System
At the end of each book club, our live panel would give the book the book a thumbs up or a thumbs down. Since there was usually five of us, we would then give the book a rating out of five. No, not five stars. We aren’t Amazon or Goodreads. We’re Boozy Book Club. We give the book 1-5 Wine Bottles. It was very scientific and really matters a lot.
TN Book Club Goodreads Group
When we started Boozy Book Club, we created a group on Goodreads where all our industrious readers could hang out, see what books we’ve read in the past, and could discuss the books as they were reading – before and after our Hangout.
If you are on Goodreads, you can still join us there, see old discussions about past books, see EVERY book we’ve read over the past FOUR YEARS and watch all the YouTube live hangouts as well. The Goodreads Group is going nowhere. Updates and info will still happen there. However …
THE NEW HOME FOR BOOZY BOOK CLUB
#TNBookClub has not changed: it is still a regular book club where we pick two books* to read and discuss with all of you.
*Why two books? Just in case you are super not interested in one of them. Not everyone is into gay royal werewolf biographies. We are here for you. You don’t have to read both. Most months, we will call one our MAIN book and one our OPTIONAL book. We aren’t doing that this month, however.
We will still have a live hangout to talk about the books where you can interact with us online using #TNBookClub or in the live chats from the video feed. But … we decided to move the regular discussion and polls for Boozy Book Club to where so many of you are all the time anyway, Facebook Groups.
That’s Normal Boozy Book Club FB Group
The group is closed, but joining is super easy. There are a few short, easy, ridiculous book-and-TN-related questions to answer and BOOM. You’re in.
In the group you will find:
- Exclusive member polls for what book we should read next
- Discussion threads about ALL!THE!BOOKS!
- Recommendations for other books
- Book sharing between members
- Special prizes and giveaways just for Boozy Book Club Members
- Your favorite people on the internet
We hope you join and invite your friends because this will be the place to talk about ALL THE BOOKS with your That’s Normal friends! The poll for one of our upcoming books is going up TODAY! The sooner you join, the sooner you get to be in on the decision about what we are reading this month.
Boozy Book Club THIS MONTH
One of our books this month is What Happened by Hillary Clinton. You are all going to read it anyway. We are all going to read it anyway. And later this month, we are all going to talk about how many times we teared up reading it.
And we are going to discuss for sure how we wish this had been the title. source
But since it isn’t, click this link to buy it if you haven’t already, and be prepared with a few tissues and some Chardonnay.
The poll for our second book – again, you can read one or both; you won’t feel left out either way – will go live on our BRAND NEW FACEBOOK GROUP today. So click here and join!
We are really excited about bringing Boozy Book Club back to all of you, with a few special, exclusive features for members only! Remember to use #TNBookClub to talk Boozy Book Club on Twitter, Instgram and Facebook.
