New Shows on NBC

NBC didn’t lose many shows to cancellations, only offering two truly new shows for fall 2017. Dick Wolf has strong holds Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Law & Order: SVU but is giving us True Crime: The Menedez Brothers. And yes, Will & Grace is back, but we already know what we’ll be getting in that time slot. There is one other show that was teased at the upfronts but I can’t find a trailer and have no info on how it will fit in the peacock’s lineup. Maybe after the Menendez brothers mini-run they’ll rearrange but Rise is a Glee/Fame/Smash show from Jason Katims (Friday Night Lights & Parenthood) starring Josh Radnor from How I Met Your Mother and little Moana herself Auli’i Cravalho. Keep your eyes out for Rise. Let’s look at the other new shows from NBC.

The Brave

Monday nights will get The Brave, staring Anne Heche as D.I.A. Deputy Director Patricia Campbell who leads her team of undercover specialists on missions in some of the most dangerous places in the world. I tried to place some of the actors, and I think one of the tech guys used to be on Quantico and one of the SEALs was on Under the Dome.

Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Brothers

So, I’ll be honest, I didn’t watch any of the OJ Simpson things, and I live in LA. some people said it only really was interesting if you lived in LA, but I don’t know. Will the same hold true for the Menendez Brothers? The word on the street is Edie Falco, while fantastic in her own right, is no Sarah Paulson. Nevertheless, Edie Falco stars as attorney Leslie Abramson in the latest installment of the true-crime mini-series. Lyle and Erik Menendez murdered their parents in 1989 and in 1994 the world watched as the trial was aired on national TV. This takes a look at the media circus and what happened when the cameras stopped rolling.
