New Shows on ABC this Fall
ABC seems to have the most show gaps to fill due to cancellations or mid-season replacements. Nine new shows to look at. What do you think?
Splitting Up Together
Jenna Fischer (The Office) and Oliver Hudson star as husband and wife whose marriage is rekindled when they file for divorce.
The Good Doctor
Shaun Murphy, played by Freddie Highmore, is a brilliant young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome. The Good Doctor also stars CSI NY alum Hill Harper and West Wing alum Richard Schiff The series is from Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios.
The Mayor
The Mayor fits in a 30-minute time slot on Tuesday nights following Black-ish. Brandon Micheal Hall stars as young rapper Courtney Rose who needs some name recognition. He plots a publicity stunt to generate some buzz and runs for mayor of his home town. But when he actually gets elected, he doesn’t know what to do. With the help of his mom Yvette Nicole Brown and friend Lea Michele, the young rapper sets out to transform his city.
The Gospel of Kevin
One of the few religious shows set for the fall is the Gospel of Kevin starring Jason Ritter as Kevin Finn. Kevin is a down-on-his-luck man who is tasked by God with a mission to save the world.
Alex, Inc
Scrubs fans rejoice, Zach Braff has returned to the small screen. Zach stars as Alex Schuman in Alex, Inc, Based on the real life podcast StartUp this fictionalized version follows Alex through the craziest parts of life. Husband and father of two, radio journalist is going to quit his job and start his own company.
Inhumans
Something new and never been done before Marvel/ABC and the Inhumans, the series will be brought to life on IMAX screens for the first two episodes for two weeks beginning September 1st. What we know:? After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii. Characters will include: Black Bolt, Maximus, Medusa, Gorgon, Karnak.
10 Days in the Valley
Kyra Sedgwick stars as Jane Sadler, a single mother in the middle of a separation whose life is turned upside down when her young daughter goes missing in the middle of the night. She’s also an overworked TV producer of a controversial police TV show, and just like it real life turns out that everyone has a secret and no one can be trusted.
The Crossing
Steve Zahn and Josh Gomez (Morgan from Chuck) star in The Crossing, a drama set in Port Cannan, a small fishing town in Washington State. Refugees from a war-torn country are looking for asylum from a war 250 years in the future. How did they get here and what led to the war?
