Did you know that we’ve been posting on That’s Normal since 2012? Our first post went up (on Tumblr nonetheless) in June of 2012. We are nearing our FIFTH anniversary! (The “WOOD” anniversary in case you want to get shopping for us early)
While we didn’t start consistently posting until November 2012, we started out with a built-in audience from our Twilight days. Many of you are still around, but since we began we have added a whole SLEW of new readers, including many from the Outlander fandom who came here because of Sam Heughan and stuck around because we deeply understand your angsty relationship with him.
But because the *new* That’s Normal readers came a year + into our daily posting, there are TONS of early-on posts that were missed. I went browsing through them recently trying to find my mojo for new posts and I found quite a few that DESERVE a re-look.
Today’s post is that: A deep dive into the archives. We’re going all the way back to December 2012 when, don’t hate me for making you feel old, Christina Lauren’s Beautiful Bastard wasn’t released yet!

So the cover was released for Beautiful Bastard the other day by EW and we got this fabulous view of what BB (real name: Bennett Ryan) COULD look like. And the preview is pretty hot.
What I like:
Skinny Tie? Check. This business man ain’t shopping at Brooks Brothers.
Fitted Suit? Check. Every sexy man knows a good tailor.
5:00 Shadow? Check. Because that means he was out somewhere late last night & didn’t have time to groom before work. And by “somewhere” I don’t mean at the local pub kicking back brewskies with the boys. I mean someone’s bed. Sexy.
What I don’t like: Why can’t I see his face? Who is this faceless man who is about to become every woman around the world’s fantasy?
Is he a real person? A male model who was asked to pose as THE Bennett Ryan? Or is he the editor’s geeky cousin who agreed to be photographed chin-down for a quick buck?
Was he drawn by an imaginative artist with the world’s best job?
Or did the publisher just find an image on istock.com and choose a guy who posed for what he thought would be ads for doctors offices & dentists but will now be staring up from nightstands of women around the globe? I bet his grandma will never know…
