GUYS! GUYS! GUYS! Did you see? Did you see? The new Sense8 Christmas Special trailer dropped today and it is all kinds of amazing. Beth and I are here to break it down for you.
WOW. Our initial reaction:
Lindsey: Ok so…my biggest reaction was to Lito getting outed in the papers with Daniella’s pictures.
Beth: Yes, we need to just get that out of way. They are very obviously Daniella’s photos, which I don’t blame her for taking, but come on girl. Password protect your cloud storage. My very meager Spanish basically says, “Lito came out,” and “These revealing photos are all over social media.”
Lindsey: From what I gather puñalito is slang for gay man in Spanish, and jolito is slang for a feminine man, so basically they’re calling him horrible slurs on the front page of the gossip rags.
Beth: They are AWFUL pictures too … like so so so intrusive. *shakes fist at sky* DAMN YOU DANIELLA!
Lindsey: Oh my god exactly. So intimate.
Beth: Poor Lito. He looks so broken up, and at the same time I feel like Hernando will be happy!
Lindsey: I know!! They can finally be together! *prays ardently to our goddess Lana* At least we have this:
Lindsey: And then we have Whispers going after Will.
Beth: We knew that was coming. It’s such a strange thing … he and Riley are together IRL right? How in the world can they actually hide from him?
Lindsey: I don’t know. He obviously can’t be drugged the entire time.
Beth: I still think Will and Riley are boring. They HAD to have Whispers be after one of them because otherwise their story would be a snooze.
Lindsey: Oh totally. And we’ll be finding out more about their past because both of them had experiences when they were younger where they were connected to others right?
Beth: Yes everyone else could have whole show just about their actual lives. Will and Riley are so vanilla they need like UBER cluster powers for me to care.
Lindsey: I would watch full seasons of all the other people just living. That reminds me: maybe I need to go in search of fanfic.
Beth: Therein lies danger.
Lindsey: Domestic Linando smut over brunch??, kinky Nomi/Amanita??, First time Kalagang???, Coffeeshop AU Sun/Capheus??, BDSM Sun/Daniella??, I mean. The possibilities are ENDLESS.
Beth: MULTIs are my JAM.
Lindsey: Okay I have you down to write some self-insert Lito/Beth/Hernando mmf then?
Lindsey: OMG WAIT WE FORGOT TO DISCUSS THE INEVITABLE S2 ORGY
Beth: let’s do it
Lindsey: It better be on the beach. That’s all I can say. Or in Rio. Ok, never mind, I will take it whenever and wherever. Just give me orgies all the time.
Beth: I wonder if they are going to keep excluding Sun and Jean Claude
Lindsey: Yeah because that is a shame
Beth: THEY NEED LOVE TOO
Lindsey: And then OF COURSE we have Wolfie in trouble. AGAIN. And what Kala was saying to Wolfie about having something beautiful inside him? GOD *sob* Although I guess I am ok with Wolfie getting into some trouble because it gives Sun a chance to be her badass self.
Beth: I actually loved that the entire trailer was framed around Sun’s story. She is the emotional center of it. And she is the hero. We get so caught up in our ships and our couples, and I love them. But I needed to see Sun … she needs them all and they really really need her.
Lindsey: Yes! Sun also has the most potential for emotional growth out of all of them. She is definitely the calm, level headed one in the group, but when she snaps. Whoa.
Beth: From all the promo stills and behind the scenes pics, it looks like Sun’s real life situation doesn’t improve. I mean, at the very least she is still imprisoned. So her story is definitely one worth watching as she’s the caged tiger.
Lindsey: And the new Capheus wasn’t in it much either. I’ve wondered how they’re going to work him in.
Beth: I have a feeling that it will be totally seamless with him. Like a daytime soap when they change Roman Brady’s. No one says, “HEY YOU HAVE A NEW FACE, ROMAN.”
Lindsey: And it looks like we have so many new scenes with them all working together as a group. So their connection must be growing stronger.
Beth: All wrapped up in a beautiful Leonard Cohen Christmas bow made of tears! Merry Christmas!
