Dang, I hate it when I’m right. No, wait, I don’t. Being right is that thing I love a whole lot. Makes a girl feel warm inside. So, what’s giving me the warm giddies right now? My very correct prediction about who would be the true survivor of Roanoke and my assertion about one simple fact.
It’s always been about Flora.
After Chapter Eight aired, I was talking to a friend of mine on Facebook about who we thought was going to be the lone survivor. My guess at the time was Flora.
I was right about that.
My thoughts on it were as follows:
“I think it’s going to be Flora. Flora was told she’d be the last to die. I totally see either Real Flora or Fake Flora showing up to the house.”
Well, real Flora did show up to the house, didn’t she? Just without any adult supervision and really, we still have no idea how she got there. She went because she was pissed her mom got off on her murder charges and because her friend Priscilla needing protecting from the Butcher.
Whilst being interviewed by the fabulous Lana Winters, Lee finds out that Flora was “taken” from her grandparents home an hour before the live on-air interview. Before she can really scamper away to go look for her daughter, Lee is met with Lot Polk shooting people up with an assault rifle and coming for revenge for his dead family and missing boys.
I was so worried Lana was gonna get it. It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen a character from a past season crossover into the current one and then end up dead for their troubles. Queenie from Coven met her end in the Hotel, same with Marcy (the real estate agent) from Murder House.
Happily, Lana just got a big ol’ knock to the face and before Lee could finally meet her end, the police came in and shot Lot.
Flash forward two weeks and we see yet ANOTHER film crew sneaking onto the Roanoke property during the blood moon. Really these idiots were begging to be killed. I mean, after watching those two millennials get staked and baked they STILL wanted to come on the blood moon and record the house. Idiots. They all died so fast I didn’t even catch their names. Sadly, Ashley Gilbert who played Cricket on the show was with them and he died too.
Lee shows up and sets about looking for Flora. Now, this just annoyed me. At the trial, Flora talked warmly of her friend Flora. So, why would it have taken Lee two weeks to go to the house to look for Flora? I don’t believe she WAITED until the blood moon. She would never have left Flora out in the wild for two weeks. Especially not with the inhabitants who also reside there.
Flora refused to leave with Lee because she didn’t want her friend Priscilla to be left alone. She wanted Priscilla to kill her so they could be friends forever. Also, there was that whole Lee killed Flora’s father thing.
So, Lee made (what was for her) the best decision possible. She allowed Priscilla to kill her and set the house on fire. Lee promised Flora she would stay with Priscilla and keep her safe from the butcher as long as Flora left the property and agreed to not ever come back during the blood moon.
Deal done, Flora and a cop drive off into the night and we watch as the spirits of Roanoke all take up their torches and surround the many cops and first responders who were on scene from the previous deaths and Lee’s “hostage” situation.
And that’s how she ended, kids. Happy show, AMIRIGHT?
