“You are the most stubborn, pig-headed–“
“–Oh, I am?”
“Where would you be if I hadn’t come along?”
“Where would you be if I hadn’t come along? Drinking and brawling and dodging the noose?“
“Let’s examine my failings at a more convenient time, shall we?”
“You’re hateful!”
“You’re infuriating!”
“I could crown you!”
“By all means, once you’ve delivered our child.”
This is marriage, right? I love it. I love them. And I think if I visit Cornwall, I may need to make Shawn carry me through some waves.
This whole episode ran the gamut of Romelza moments. There were the many times I was ready to punch Ross in the face along with Demelza:
and then the ones where you just went “Aaaahhh!”:
Look at that grin! It’s the “I want to rip your clothes off, but sadly we’re in public” grin.
Then there were the other Ross moments:
When he actually acted like he had a brain in his head, didn’t rake Francis over the coals, got him to talk to Captain Blamey (!!!), and got the three of them laughing…because he didn’t like George Warleggan’s necktie!
Or this one:
when Ross is focused on something legal, good for his family, and unifying.
And then, of course, the best one:
Because someone had to punch George in the face. Although I think it should have been Elizabeth…
because I didn’t get this wrong, did I? George basically propositioned her, threatening Francis and Ross if she didn’t sleep with him. Because THAT’s not forcing her into prostitution or anything.
And then there were the other two relationships. One which made no sense…
…because Caroline’s method of flirting seemed to be lying, manipulating, insulting everyone, and acting like a snob, when–even with 20,000 pounds–she couldn’t possibly want to marry Dr. Ennis.
And the Blameys:
It was so lovely to see something go right for Verity. (I loved Captain Blamey’s son!) And I hope that Ross’s forcing Francis to forgive and forget the past if he’ll forgive Francis will mean that we get to see more of them. Because I love Verity.
What were your favorite moments of the episode? Did you want to kill Ross? Kiss him? Join him in punching George?
