the story of Mia [Emma Stone], an aspiring actress, and Sebastian [Ryan Gosling], a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
Add in dancing Ryan Gosling, real Los Angeles locales, forlorn Gosling looks, Emma Stone and the girls singing and dancing in the street and you’ve got a movie I need to see.
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling Together Again
We loved them together when they attempted (and nailed) the Dirty Dancing lift in Crazy, Stupid, Love and showed us that no one puts GosStone (that’s a terrible celeb couple name) in a corner. They’re FINNNNALLY back together and it’s suddenly way too long till December when the film will be in theaters. It’s also looking like we’ll be spending nearly ever day at the theater this December with all the MUST SEE flicks coming out then.
Ryan Gosling Singing
If you’re a Gos fan, you known Ryan has/had a band called Dead Man’s Bones and it was creepy and weird and lovely. Cause, I mean, I know it’s kinda dumb and blindly devotional, but he’s great, right? Though this isn’t quite creepy goth Halloween music, it seems more like a droning sad bastard music, but we’ll take what we can get I guess.
Ryan Gosling Dancing
What might be one thing better than Ryan Gosling singing? Ryan Gosling DANCING! Like old Hollywood partner dancing. Like Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing. Like swoooooonn. This visual ALONE:
LA Locations
We saw Angel’s Flight, Shakespeare Bridge, Lots, lots lots! Griffith Observatory, John Legend playing a guitar (that’s a site, right?!), Seal Beach Pier and that was just the trailer! I feel like this might be a few hours of LA p0rn for people who likes those kinds of things (me)!
And of course, you can buy the song in the trailer, it’s Ryan Gosling singing “City of Stars.” Available on iTunes, so you can wear it out and annoy the crap out of your family and friends for the next 6 months till we can finally see the movie.
Ok, so it’s gorgeous, it has Ryan and Emma, it’s about LA, and entertainment and it’s directed by Oscar winner Whiplash director, Damien Chazelle and even the WEBSITE is gorge. So, I don’t think I can gush any more about this movie. So, yea see you at the theater!
